Wasn't impressed with him during his stay, no better than our other options.

Martin was judged before he even played a game on here. He wasn't as bad as everyone was making out and was fine as a squad player. However, we should be able to get better. Good luck to him. I agree,he was ok, his biggest problem was he came from Stevenage, had it been Rotherham or Birmingham there would be little adverse comment. I think five full backs, THD, James Clarke,Partington , Kelly and Leads should be enough to cover two positions. Its a big striker we need and another keeper if Smith goes.

Wasn’t great, wasn’t dreadful. If he doesn’t want to stay then that’s up to him. He’s one of those who we’ll forget soon enough. He did a job for us when pretty much everyone was below par.

GC said he would have liked to keep him. Why? Didn't you like his goal v Charlton ? smacks of no ability, don't it ?

Only Kelly is a fully fit LB, I don't think Parts or Leads have ever played LB since they've been at Rovers, given both have struggled at RB this season I'm not sure if I fancy seeing them at LB v Pompey, Posh or Sunderland etc!

A concern is can Holmes -Dennis play every game to the end of the season ? Now Martin's gone back and if HD struggles with injury ( which is a pretty big possibility after being out for over a year) we are left with only Kelly and Matthews as left footers - 2 promising players but very inexperienced for a relegation battle too !

I heard at the Burton game that Notts County were set to sign Martin , so that maybe a reason why he has left, should get regular first team football there.

Well that's one gone, GC said he would have liked to keep him. Will that open a place for another loan, hope so. Good, he wasn't one of DC's better moves. A desperation signing as the window slammed shut. I suspectGC said nice things about him staying with his fingers firmly crossed behind his back, knowing that Martin didn't want to fight for his place. was Tariq unwell, injured or just rested? DC had some better moves..... who

GC said he would have liked to keep him. Why? Polite that's why, wonder how far down your list they are?

Good, if he doesn’t want to stay and help us fight relegation he can * right off. A shoo in for a place in my worst Rovers XI. Oh, come on. Ahead of Jon Beswetherick? Robbie Ryan? Carl Regan? Danny Senda? I thought Danny Senda was ok and was a bit gutted we let him go after relegation.

Bring in someone who can get Kelly out of the starting 11 now please Kelly has been nowhere near good enough? For me he's been one of our most consistent and reliable players and has more than warranted his place in the starting 11. You have got to remember he is only 21 and is playing his first year of professional football, he's found a solid partnership with THD and will improve the more games he can get under his belt.

I think he’s been consistently poor and gets beat by wingers in every game, I don’t care that he’s young and will maybe get better frankly, YOU have to remember we are in a serious relegation battle, players that might be good in a couple of years aren’t gonna help us right now, you call it a solid partnership with THD.. I call it THD covering for him a lot, I don’t rate him.. if you do that’s your opinion, this is mine.

I've seen him 5-6 times over the last two months and I can't think of too many times where he has been beaten by wingers, it certainly doesn't happen every game. I personally rate the lad and think he will go far with us but each to their own I guess. We are in a relegation battle but it's not been defending that has got us there, our defending could improve but it has been a lack of goals for the most part.

Every time i've seen him play the opposition attack him as they can see he is, when isolated, a weakness to exploit.

May be a coincidence, but these are the stats: (league games only) With Kelly P13 W6 D4 L3 Without Kelly P13 W1 D2 L10
