I've real trouble with this clapping for one minute thing. I get that a tribute to Kitty would have been appropriate. But beyond that where do you draw the line? What,in all seriousness,if four or five fans die in a short period of time. Who draws the line? Who qualifies and who doesn't? What if the chosen minute coincides with a penalty, a serious injury or an opposition's goal? If it has to happen at all a dignified tribute before the game with all mentioned and then a minute's clapping for all would be much better; together with a tribute in the programme. I absolute hate the minutes applause during games. I would much prefer it or some tribute/silence at the first and/or last game of the season i memory of all no longer with us

It was mentioned at half time along with another fan. We had another 1 min clap during the match. It wasn't as well supported as previous 1 min tributes, presumably as people can't remember the last time we had match without a 1 min clap . I think we should mention names over the tanoy and stop with the clapping as its become automatic and unemotional. Let's be honest, any clapping was barely noticeable.Poor communication yet again from the powers that be. By that stage of the game I think most fans had become comatose from watching that unadulterated crap. I suspect it took some effort for most people to get up and walk out at the end.

At Stoke, they do such things with tributes and pics on a big screen but we don't have a Big screen!!! In fact, we don't have very much at all. The only thing big at our club is the fan base and debt😂 We should have a proper celebration of her life next game

Tin hat on. Can't you do an applaud on 104 mins for Kitty if Tuesday match goes into extra time? Especially as it's her funeral on the day. Kitty's funeral is on the 29th, the day of the Peterborough home game. Ah, apologies.

Before kick-off I thought they should have dedicated the game to Kitty, given that she lived well past ninety and had been such a passionate supporter for so long. Come full time, I was glad that they didn't.

Sorry but the minutes applause should NOT take place during the match and I agree it is getting a bit silly now and one or two are sure to get missed with this policy if there is one. It should be limited to special people like Kitty or better still delivered on the microphoner at half time. to blame the Board is ridiculous especially as Weal and the club have already delivered tributes on the website and probably in the programme.(Don't buy one so don't know. There is plenty more to blame the Board for!!! RIP Kitty. Angel of the Gas.

Agree with others, the minutes applause for any Tom, Dick or Harry is getting tiresome now, and people just can’t be arsed as they happen far too frequently.

All of their supporters who died through the year are read out pre-match. My Dad who I went with most matches, died a few weeks ago, he had been watching Rovers since the early 60's, he took me to my first match V's City when Smart? Scored in the last minute, 88? I seriously thought about getting in touch about doing the minutes applause, but as there have been so many lately thought it would just be lost with the rest of them. I just think we should do what City do, pick a date and honour them all then.

We were always alerted of the time to applaud on the Match screen. Now that's busted how can you expect supporters to remember during a game.

A bit harsh I believe kitty deserved a minutes applause a few can't be arsed but many would still out of respect including me, the loss of someone close shapes your life.

I think the point is she wasn't any Tom, Dick or Harry. But because we do this for every Tom, Dick or Harry now its difficult to track and devalues it completely. A game with a minutes applause should be the exception and not the rule. And definitely not three times in a single game

I don't like the minutes applause. If we had a proper ground with proper big screens I would like to all these memorial tributes to be made at the end of the season, a bit like at the BBC Sports Personality of the year where pictures of those that have died during the season (staff, players and fans) appear on the screen with their name and age etc with some appropriate music as a backdrop. Bring back Nick Day for the occasion too. For significant passing like Geoff Dunford or Kitty then revert back to a proper prematch tribute and silence.

But to have a minutes applause for everyone is impractical and turns each and every match into a memorial service and turns a mark or respect into a lack of respect which is why this thread ended up being created in the first place.

As much as we should respect fellow gasheads that pass on, the two or three minutes of clapping is getting devalued because it is now every game! Just saying

Hopefully this get will picked up on by the club and they will stop doing it. If I knew a Rovers fan who died I wouldnt want a Mins clap when people are clearly doing it as it feels the right thing to do but they realise it's all a bit much, whilst others just ignore it, hardly a respectful minute, it would make me feel uncomfortable. Just a nice dignified tanoy accouncement on a system that people can hear.
