Thanks enjoyed seeing the goals and pleased for Nicho, alongside a big bloke think he could flourish.

Looks like a bit of an Alan Shearer Penalty shout. "He felt a touch so he had the right to go down." What does that even mean???
def pen though :-), clumsy defending.

If Nichols could play like that and finish a couple of chances I have no doubt he would be a good player for us. It has to be a confidence thing or a mindset thing.

Tom Nichols last night was a completely different player we have watched this last few seasons. He was confident, happy to receive the ball anywhere on the pitch and ran his balls off all night Took the Pen very well with a lot of confidence and never looked like missing it Lets hope he can do this in the league games from now on

Although there were many good performers and O.Clarke was MOTM, I actually thought Nichols was the biggest difference between Saturday and last night.
His first touch is superb and his hold up play against defenders twice his size is excellent. Not only that, when he did get the ball he was positive and made things happen. You could see exactly why he's top of the assist charts for us this season and if it wasn' for a shocking miss by Reilly he'd have had another assist last night; two if Sercombe's rocket hadn't come back off the post.
Personally I don't think last night was a one off either. I'd say he's been playing to that level most of this season. Obviously the lack of goals is an issue but while he's creating great chances for others and helping the team stay on the front foot with his excellent link play, he's contributing more than enough to keep his place in my opinion. Particularly when you consider the other options.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Tom is a top class footballer, I would even argue he is possibly our most technically gifted player, but the reality as a striker his goal scoring record is quite clearly unacceptable. Tricky one as you could argue that sticking with TN was a large part of the reason DC lost his job, but on the other hand I am quite certain there is a Matty T style 20 a season strike there just waiting to happen! In reality I think his time to push and fulfil the potential most of us have seen in him has come and gone and I don't think he will be at the club for much longer.

One plus this season the pitch looks in great Condition Yep, and that’s probably why we’ve already lost 9 at home this season 😂

Unless he leaves this month then he's got 5 months to prove he's good enough as last night was his first start under GC, but if we do go down then based on last night's performance you do wonder if he's just what we need in Div 2.

Agree with that. Put him alongside Jakubiak and he’ll put Jac through on goal. Probably our most obvious partnership when I consider the best and worst attributes of our forwards yet I can’t remeber a game where we’ve started those two up front in a 4-4-2.

Agreed. Especially your last sentence. I sooner play Nichols than Payne; his attitude and performances stink.
