People complaining that we are not signing a replacement for Payne, maybe getting rid of an unhappy/disruptive player will be like singing 11 new players. If he (and Bennett) were actually a bad influence in the dressing room as some on here suggested then maybe some of the players effected will start to kick on again. *I'm not saying either of these 2 are bad apples but it's interesting that GC seems to have made an effort to get them both out. And in fairness to GC I reckon he's done quite well to actually manage to offload them. It's just a shame that the ongoing lack of decent striker issue hasn't been resolved (yet).

If 2 or 3 disrupted players up their games as a result of his moving on it may not matter?

Isn't it just Matthews left?

But they actually have zero form for us at any point so I'm pretty sceptical. You could be right though and I hope you are.

Matthews, Upson, Rodman, Jakubiak, Reilly all joined in the same window Payne and all could have some room for improvement in their contribution so far.

I doubt it's as simple as that. I'm impressed he has culled the deadwood but I'd be amazed if we aren't paying a large portion of their wages so in effect we are paying them to **** off and in Payne's case we are paying him to (potentially) score for our rivals when we don't have a replacement ourselves.
It's a shocking, sorry mess and a sad epithet for how DC's reign ended: with a squad of overpaid ****ing useless clowns and a board that couldn't give a toss. It's a million miles away from the dream that DC sold us on that phone in with Twentyman.
Nevermind, I can't wait for tomorrow when the club will blow smoke up my ass by telling me all about the new development that they have hired some new consultants for.

You mean the one where he looked seriously angry? yeah Many of us were greatly underwhelmed by this slapped ass face at the time and the picture never lied. What some will do for a signing on fee. How could DC have misjudged him so badly? In the history of Bristol Rovers has any one player contributed so little as Payne?
