Honestly, why would they want him back?
I can imagine IF this does happen we are paying a chunk of his wages on loan or selling him at a major loss.
It seems like great business for the Shrews to get approx 150k for him and I can't believe they can't replace him with better seeing as how they will have seen him only score 2 for us and sparked rumours of being a bad influence.

Payne has mostly looked like a sunday league dog and duck player for rovers. But the fact remains he scored more goals than anyone else in the team that finished 3rd in league one last season. So whats it all about?

So whats it all about? He's a fairly immobile lump that can't pass and is no good in the air but he also doesn't get any service. At Shrewsbury, being part of a successful team, he would have been able to put away well worked attacks. Here he is expected is expected to create and finish his own chances which is where he falls down as really he is no better than a Conference South footballer, one who has developed a knack of getting a few in higher divisions. If we can get rid of him and replace him during this window with someone like Brett Pitman, who's all round play is much better, I'll be very happy indeed.

So whats it all about? He's looked incredibly unfit since he arrived. Last season he wasnt particularly great, but was part of a very well drilled and effective unit that shared the goals about.

I hope this is true. Best for all concerned if Payne leaves the club asap and if it means we cut our losses a little on fee installments and/ or wages then so much the better.

In terms of attitude - on a par with John Joe-O'Toole (who at least scored a load of goals!).
In terms of skill - on a par with Bob Newton (who at least scored a few goals!).
In terms of goals - on a par with Tom Nicholls (who at least has the right attitude, skill and a few goals!).
