Why has he not been getting in the Coventry squad? Do they have someone better in that role? Does he not suit the system they are playing?

Lines may not be at the peak of his career, but he is an excellent creative midfield player at this level, and committed to the Gas. To get rid of him would be madness. One of those we need to keep for sure.

Did very well at Shrews last season. Gets about the pitch a lot. Happy for him to come along - competition for Ollie Clarke ?

Mind you, it seems despite having an HoR our scouting simply consists of "did he play for Shrews in their (nearly) promotion season"? So it's inevitable whether we like it or not.

Also seems likely that Widdrington recommended him to Coventry in the first place.

With Payne and Bennett moving on we are crying out for a striker and a winger.
Can't really see the need for a defensive midfielder. Would have rather kept hold of Bennett. We already have O.Clarke, Lines, Upson, Sinclair and Sercombe to play central midfield and I'd consider 3 of those to be defensive players.
I'm not saying Ogogo isn't a decent player. I don't remember him so can't comment on that, but is he really what we need?
If we're signing a striker and a winger as well then fair enough but when wages are tight I still don't see the need for another central midfielder.

Lines past his best, time probably up for Sinclair if we want to move forward and Sercombe living purely off of last season at the moment.
I felt we struggled to control the midfield on Tuesday and I've personally wanted us to sign a good quality defensive midfielder for years - hopefully Ogogo is that player.
Anybody else you don't like?
Have you not seen the league table?

Not saying he was outstanding or anything but the team seems to perform better when he plays in my opinion.
I'd rather have Lines than Upson personally.

Just what we need, a CDM who can't get into a League 1 team.

There can be many reasons why a player isn't playing at a new club. Could be failed to settle, not being played in the right position, formation not suited etc. you only have to look how Pogba was performing under Mourinho where he was being restricted but has a new lease of life under Solskjaer. Also, we are Rovers and have no money. We are therefore stuck with buying other clubs cast offs and misfits. Star players who get picked every week will be out of our price range unless they are playing in the 8th tier !!!

If I was manager it would be to improve the team in as many areas as possible.

The archetypal "punt" signing. Not getting into the Coventry team which doesn't bode well. Did alright at Shewsbury, but after what we've seen from Rodman and Payne, that doesn't mean much either.
Hope this won't be the only signing today.
