Im beginning to think we wont get a replacement for either Payne or Bennett. Sercombe will probably be converted to a full time left winger and as we have 3 keepers, 1 of them will be converted to a striker!

Swindon are not going to pick up all of Bennets wages nor Shrews Paynes. Just about cover Ogogo's. Pure speculation, nobody on here has a clue about the financial details of any of these loans/transfers. Exactly this. Why would we loan players to other clubs and pay their wages as well ffs.

Pure speculation, nobody on here has a clue about the financial details of any of these loans/transfers. It's common sense, Bennett is supposed to be one of our biggest earners- are league 2 Swindon likely to be paying the entire wage of the highest earner at a club in the league above?! I'm not saying that. None of us know what any of our players is paid and as regards who pays what percentage of this and that is anybody's guess. In Payne's case, we don't even know how much he cost us, let alone what amount of that we have paid Shrewsbury. So it's possible some sort of arrangement has been agreed around that.

What did you think of Tom Nichols on Tues? Absolutely pulling up trees. One penalty in the league since 30th October 2017. What a player! What. A. Player. No, what did you think of him Tuesday? Not 2017. Did you even go?

I really hope all these players going out means we've got others lined up as I'd much rather keep Bennett than have nobody. This

Why do you keep asking me if I go? Why do you think that is any kind of support for your bizarre masochistic love of statistically the sh**test player Bristol Rovers has ever seen. Do you want to check the RFID on my season ticket or something? Do you really think that will magically make Mr Blank's goal tally look any better? I did go. The bloke scored a penalty. His first league goal since Halloween 2017. So f**king what?

I'm sure you're absolutely delighted Cogs managed to fight off all of those interested clubs for his services. "Listen, I was very close to grabbing Tom Nichols on the 31st of December and locking him up for a month and letting him out on the 1st of February but I didn’t, I played him last week, but I didn’t want to. I played him tonight but I didn’t want to, because good players will be wanted and there are many a scout up in the stands looking at Tom Nichols. I said it, and I was consistent with Tom, there was no chance he was going anywhere. There is no way I am going to let a quality player like Tommy Nichols go." www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/every-word-bristol-rovers-manager-2488891

Thats mostly been coughlans approach since he has taken over and apart from the wycombe game the players have responded to him.

Guess it's all about money. If Bennett is really on a £200k contract as rumoured then I doubt Swindle will want to pay £100k in wages for half a season. Suspect he will go in January but will still cost the club a big chunk of his wages better for us to hold out for a transfer to take him of wage bill. But would he take the likely pay-cut?

'Wellens said: I think he enjoyed his time with us because of the way we played – he fitted into our system and had a manager that understood him and knew how to get the best out of him.'
Ooooohh! Meeowww

Meeowww That’s not catty. That’s facts. We don’t know if Bennet is a number 10, a winger or a striker because he’s been inconsistent in all 3 positions for us. Also remember that Mark Robins, a very good manager, played JCH as a winger and as a number 10. The result was 7 goals in 30 off games. GC has converted him to a very good number 9/target man and he has scored 20 goals In just over half a season.

The only way he's going in January is a loan deal with Rovers subsidising some of wages. The good news is that we won't be paying him after the end of June. Honestly, we must have been so desperate to sign him on a contract of £4K a week.

He is 29 though. Surely he'd rather be playing and enjoying his football in League 2 than sitting on the bench in League 1 and snoozing his way to retirement
