That's assuming Oyston now gives up, you fear he'd sooner see Blackpool disappear than accept defeat. It's amazing with that going on in the background that on the pitch that they almost won at Sunderland last night to go 7th. What I can't believe is that Blackpool are run on a shoestring under those idiots. They could barely field a squad in pre-season a year or so ago because the owners wouldn't fund any signings. Total rag bag outfit and yet they have put our transfer dealings to total shame. Get rid of Widdrington and get in whoever is head of scouting recruitment at Blackpool! I accept they are in a good catchment area though which undoubtedly helps Nice positive post from you again

History is repeating itself. I remember this happening to someone last time we got relegated (Stockport?) & and us all being desperate it would save us. Can't remember if they had the points deduction or not, but we went down anyway

Says a lot about our own season when a team can be deducted 12 points and still stay above us.

Having read more on this, it’s seems Blackpool supporters aren’t treating this as a bad thing at all. This means an end of the Oyston family’s association with Blackpool and the club can now start to hope for better times. Some already predicting a packed out crowd for the first game without the Oyston’s in charge. Even the 12 point deduction would still put them clear of the relegation places and recent form would suggest they will have no problem beating the drop. Every cloud has a silver lining. Yes, I understand what you mean, but surely there have to be some owners. Not too sure if Belokon wants the club full time, he just wants his money back as the High Court has ruled. Someone needs to take over from the Oystons and I’m not sure that any are coming forward or even that the Oystons would sell. I suspect a long way to go on that story before the fans get reasons to be happy. UTG!

Belokon can't takeover the club as the FA deem him "unfit" to own a league club.

I'm shocked at what a rogue Oyston has turned out to be. You'd never guess it from his public persona.

I should have specified, I meant from league 1 - must have been what, 2009? Either way, it doesn't bode well for us!

I have always felt a 12 point deduction is a farce in these circumstances. It almost allows clubs to choose when to pull the plug. “We are more than 12 points clear, let’s do it now”.
In my view it should be an automatic relegation, if not two leagues down.

This is hardly the typical living beyond your means approach Pompey & co have been caught out by in the past, not sure any genuine football fan would want Blackpool to be relegated because of their ownership issues.

I’m pretty sure most Blackpool supporters will be delighted with this, this is about getting their club back and not league position currently. But surely the issue for the future is how can Belokon take over if not a fit and proper person. Could cause chaos.

But surely the issue for the future is how can Belokon take over if not a fit and proper person. Could cause chaos. Belokon doesn't want to own the club, he wants to oust the Oyston's. This will potentially pave the way for Belokon to agree a settlement with receivers to end the Oyston ownership and transfer the club into the hands of the supporters.

EFL to decide on 6th March I hope they decide in Blackpool’s favour. The fans have had a tough few years and deserve a fresh start. I would hate to have been in their position.
