Come on, £40 quid each to play at the Mem?
Can’t believe the critics!
Be a good social too for everyone on the forum end of season.
Seriously, is anyone up for it? I’ve done this before, fans derbies, charity games etc at the Mem and it’s a good experience worth paying for!

Im going to try and get a charity event together to play the OTIB folk, however its unlikely to be able to get organised for this season.
Was a huge success lat time and a decent sum raised for Childrens Hospice SW
Watch this space and i will post up some details once ive given it some more thought.
Would be interested in options for a potential Charity ?
I would put forward - Teenage Cancer Trust

Again, even I think this is a fair money making idea, and I'm me.

More revenue for the club while the pitch isn't in use over the summer. Plus potentially some money behind the bar too. As long as the pitch can handle it then I'm all for it Not sure I agree. This is a professional football club we are running , not a leisure centre. Are we so desperate for cash we need to hire the first team playing surface out? Surely utilising the bars by having some events would be better. Yes we are desperate for money is the answer there

I'm tall, fat, slow and the wrong side of fifty and cannot pass a ball so may actually prove a useful centre half partner to a fitter and younger one. Definitely a half at the most for me though.

Expensive. A sign, along with very expensive mascot packages, of the over commercialisation of our club / football.
Clearly not a working class, family sport.
Before anyone shouts, what are you doing about it then, I'm trying via BRFPA, Blue Diamond Çlub and others.

Before anyone shouts, what are you doing about it then, I'm trying via BRFPA, Blue Diamond Çlub and others. I think over commercialisation is as fine...as long as the prices are competitive. They pointed to nearby outlets for justification of the food and beer costs which is reasonable, but you can't claim that being a Rovers mascot yields the same value as being a Sunderland one, or playing on the pitch yields the same value as playing at the Madejski. But even our commercial department aren't mad enough to over-price the mem...at least I hope not! I do agree that the costs even when competitive are probably too much for a working class family. But then the game was taken away from the working class years ago.

Well, it’s £20 to come watch a game there, but to wear the kit and play on the pitch then I don’t see £40 as to unreasonable, if anyone arranges a game I’ll happily play!
