What more does he need to do? a] keep us in league one this season. - this has not been achieved yet. b] guide the club to a much better season 2019-20 - this has not been achieve yet. Ps the goals against record has been good all season. i’m not sure you’ve read my post properly. I’m talking about the 3 months he’s been in charge. You’re talking about long term aims. He can’t win games he hasn’t played yet. Coughlan was brought in last summer to sort out our defence, which he has duly done. I would say he’s been an unqualified success so far. Fair point. He has done everything we could have hoped for in his time as manager,i agree.

Thank you. What’s interesting is that Coughlan has been in and around the lower leagues both as a player and as a coach. He must know all there is to know about the level of football required and what works and what doesn’t work. I see Scholes has walked out of Oldham. It must have been one helluva culture shock the day he took it on. Same with Sol Campbell, it’s only a matter of time. We maybe flirted with Ben Garner! What would he know of life in the lower leagues? So I say well done to Starnes for sticking with GC. So far so good.

I would imagine their relationship is pretty good as DC recommended him for the job when he left. GC has had a cracking start to management and long may it continue. However, people shouldn’t get too carried away. Confidence plays a large part in performance and a measure of managerial ability will be when results start going against you. Mind you, if that never happens next stop the Premiership (bigger tents required).

Just in case anyone is interested (just saw on facebook), I thought it's really nice to see DC & GC at Cheltenham together. How I wish I was in that room, I'd do anything to hear that conversation! View Attachment"So Lee started making jokes about them hitting the Europa league in 5 years and I was just laughing about his dreams being a lot bigger than he is! Seriously you should stand next to him he's a lot smaller than you'd think."

I hope GC and DC did better than I have today! On my bets, the first horse died, the second pulled up and the third came 10th. I think I'll stick with my footy accumulators in future.

Looks like he's had a good break and they are planning for his return next season!with GC his number 2!,this is based on hearing no rumors from nobody in the know who is not an insider at the club, so it must be true!

Anyone who knows DC clearly knows that progress off the pitch was not as good as he (and all of us) wanted.
The badges 'argument' is laughable.
All staff in the modern day take their badges. In certain circumstances / places you even HAVE to have them. Whether it makes you a better or worse coach / manager is certainly a moot point, but having them definitely doesn't make you a bad coach / manager.
Everyone is an individual. Reducing football down to stereotypes is weak.

Seems DC still gets on just as well with Wael! This picture just confirmed DC isn't going to Yeovil... he's smiling!! Sidenote: great photo and makes me sad. Miss the bloke dearly. Glad to see he looks refreshed and hopefully ready for his next challenge.

Some of the disrespect shown here is pretty disgusting really. Our greatest ever manager. End of. I hate to say it but I rate DC about 3rd in all time managers. Not a stitch on Gary Megson
