I've just had a worrying thought and I hope it isn't the case, but is there a clause that prevents Johnson Clarke Harris playing against his old club Coventry?

Even if Coventry had suggested such a clause or gentlemans agreement we should have stood firm, I can't see Coventry pulling the plug on a deal just for that especially when they seemed so keen to get him off their wage bill.

I remember Lambert wasn't allowed to play for us against Rochdale (only the 1 game though) when we signed him.

Memory struggling on this one but was that because we were playing them the following week? I could understand why they were looking to avoid a fan backlash if if he were to come straight back and score! We probably agreed in those circumstances as it was probably us who were more desperate to get that particular deal done(?).

Yeah off the top of my head his debut was Stockport & we had Rochdale the following Saturday

Unfortunately a lot of the squad couldn't play at Doncaster last night.

Only applies to loan deals. Once he's our player they can't stop us playing him against them surely? He's registered to us, not them.

If there is no specific clause in the contract then football law allows him to play simple as. I think prem loan rules prevent a player playing against his own club but I don't think that applies in the EFL. In any event the loan question is not relevant here as he's our player.

Well hopefully he continues to look the real deal and doesn’t go back to playing how he did there then eh.
