Luton would probably beaten whatever eleven we had on the pitch yesterday. However it was painfully obvious by half-time that we had to do something different, if only to make them think and react differently. JCH's goal just before the break flattered us. Yet the same eleven came out for the second half and we made just two substitutions in the 76th and 83rd minutes! Long before then any one of six or seven players could have been subbed without any surprise at all. Sinclair could have chased them down, and either Jakubiak or Reilly needed longer to get into the game. THD, despite his poor game at Doncaster, could have made a difference.

THD wasn't in the squad. (I guess injured.)

Up until the first goal we were holding our own and we had a good go in the second half. That said just before half time I was thinking the game was crying out for a player like Stuart Sinclair.

I was sitting there at half time thinking about what changes we could make to get an edge but looking at the bench there was no one there that would have really changed much. Sincs for OC perhaps but I don't believe it would have made much difference. Upson was one of our better players on the pitch and the only bit of creativity that we had in midfield. Parts for JC would not have added much more going forward and would have weakened us defensively I think. We missed THD yesterday and our other creative players such as Lines and Rodman are missing.
I think the simple fact is that we had our best available players on the pitch and adopted the best formation but we were beaten by a better side.
I take alot of encouragement though by the fact that we actually ran the runaway leaders quite close and were good enough to at least get a draw on another day.

That is exactly what we discussed around the hour mark. I could not see what changes we could have made to strengthen us against such solid opposition. Like you say I am pleased we stayed in the game, they had plenty of possession but once again Bonham didn’t have many real testing saves to make in the second half. Another day we could have nicked a point (deserved or undeserved), but we certainly didn’t disgrace ourselves as others seem to believe.

THD wasn't in the squad. (I guess injured.) GC said in his interview before the game that THD was injured in the Sunderland match and had been carrying it since.

I would have brought Jak on for Nichols or Sercombe and maybe Sincs for Ollie Clarke ..... other than that there is nothing without Lines or Rodman being absent yet again.

What we had on the pitch was the best available to us and those on the bench would not have made much of difference. People calling for GC to make changes to the formation, but again, we don't have the right players available to play certain formations at the moment.

I hope GC hasn't been infected by the Tinker Bug

Ogogo was very tired 10 minutes before he was finally replaced and nichols was missing from the start until he went off so for me he should have replaced them after about 55 minutes. Would it have changed the outcome? No.
