Accrington v Rochdale It is hard to judge what would be the best result from our point of view. A draw would keep both below us but in some ways I would prefer Accrington to win to keep Rochdale on the magic 42 and four points behind us. That extra point could make a difference but the trouble is that a win for either team could give them a boost and Rochdale have kept improving since change of Manager. There are good and bad against any result so I think its a case of having to accept whatever result this game provides although Saturday sees Accrington home again against struggling Walsall compared to Rochdale away at Portsmouth so perhaps a win for Accrington is the better result long term even though it will put them above us tonight.
Sunderland v Burton Doesn't matter one iota but from next seasons point of view would prefer Sunderland to go up.
Wycombe v Charlton Defeat for Wycombe will read their last 5 games LLLLL and they are away at Southend on Saturday so from our point of view only a defeat tonight will be good for us.

As Lympstone pointed out in the other thread, much better for Sunderland to win, as we want Barnsley to be out of top two range by the last game of the season.
Fingers crossed for Charlton (and Southend on Saturday).

Would also prefer Accrington to win and then again on Saturday. Whilst we want all the teams below us and just above us to loose, we want to keep those furthest away from us where they are until they are officially down. If things go our way we could be seven points ahead of both Rochdale and Walsall after the weekend leaving only the team fourth from bottom capable of catching us.

Accy v Rochdale - draw. Only two points on the board then, and both of them below us - either side wins and there will be three points.

A few games back I was hoping Barnsley would be already promoted and on their holidays for that last game, but now with their stuttering recent results I agree - let's hope they are safely 3rd or 4th with no chance of second and looking to protect players for the playoffs.

Sunderland and Charlton wins. As for Accies v Rochdale, I'm siding with a home win but a draw wouldn't be awful. Rochdale win would not be ideal though.
As far as I'm concerned, I'd much rather four teams get pushed further into the mire than eight teams stay below us but closer in terms of points, if that makes sense. Either way, win Saturday and it won't matter!

I think, notwithstanding whatever the result is Saturday, Bradford are as good as down now. Wycombe, Southend and Walsall in free-fall too but the latter two have new bosses so who knows what will happen. I'm very confident we'll be a L1 team in August.

Accrington may have the toughest fixtures out of all teams in the mix, after tonight - Walsall (H) Luton (H) Doncaster (A) Plymouth (H) Portsmouth (A)

Wouldn't be suprised if Rochdale finish above Accrington. I want a draw in that game tonight. But won't be really upset of either side wins. Need Charlton to win though.

It looks like having the lowest wage budget could have caught up with them at the death.

They also have, in Henderson, a goalscorer, which as we know full well will be vital during their battle. I didn't realise Accies fixtures were that tough, they could genuinely finish the season only picking up three more points...
