Although bottom of the table Bradford have some quality players in there side. One is Jack Payne on lone from Huddersfield he was coached by GC at Southend a goalscoring midfielder who would compliment Sercombe and Clarke and add a bit of quality to our midfield. Other player I liked was Scannell who caused us a few problems spent most of his career with Crystal Palace and I believe Huddersfield would add a bit of quality to our team, and we need it.. Neither will fancy playing in league 2 next season so if we stay up that maybe two to go for.

Yeah, Scannell's played 300 games in the championship, presumably (even though he's still under contract at Bradford) he'd want to at least stay in League 1.

I was surprised when they took Scannell off. He was causing us trouble. Put a cheeky bid in for him

I agree. The way to go is to try to be in quick and get the best players from clubs relegated. Both the players mentioned looked good players. We need to install two ingredients into the side in the wide positions and in midfield and up front. Pace and power. 2 pacy widemen and a right back and 2 central midfield players both creative and quick to compliment Upson,Ogogo,Ollie Clarke and Sercombe,This would leave a new centre half preferably big to challenge Craig and Lockyer and 2 strikers which would probably cost the most. Oh and very very quickly a sneaky bid for Bonham even if it has to be with a sell on clause- his recent jittery spell may well make this deal popssible. Easy isn't it? Not. Come on GC you've produced one absolute gem, how about six or seven more...you've got the luck of the Irish I hope- the Midas touch. UTG

He was out for months with, incredibly, a broken back. Got a few minutes the week before against Doncaster and was not expected to play a full game yesterday. Good player but is he injury prone ?

UTG We have certainly got seven players we could release, but it maybe a tall order to get seven quality players in, DC tried last summer and failed miserably.

Scannell hasn't played more than 30 league games in a season since 2014-15. Probably why a player of his talent is available at this level.

He did get an injury while playing for Burton on loan from Huddersfield in 2018, but all players get some injuries in their career, Bradford did pay a fee for him so probably not injured when they signed him. But there are a few good players amongst the teams at the foot of this division. In the case of Bradford it's their leeky defence and having to rely a bit on the midfield (Payne) to help out with getting goals that is causing their demise. Rather like Rochdale who have let in over 80 goals this season nearly twice what we have.

Thought Payne was very good, carried the ball well and controlled the game after their first goal. Would love to see him in a gas shirt.

Sort of players we could do with, but rarely go out and buy.

Jack Paynes contract is up in June and he is clearly out of favour with Huddersfield, GC will know him well and I am sure he will be on Gc radar we managed to get Dennis to move south from Huddersfield can we do the same with Payne. We could get rid of one Payne in the ass and replace with a good Payne. Noticed Telford is now knocking them in for Bury, they have massive financial problems and may have to let him go. A good player who was never given a proper chance with us.

I'd have both but particularly Payne. He showed Sercombe what you're meant to do in the 10 role.

Have they been good all season or did we just make them look good yesterday? I mean I liked the look of Sunderland's centre back when we played them but most of their fans seemed to be of the opinion that he had been dreadful all season and they'd be happy to drive him to his next club.

Payne would be good as long as we don't expect him to have to do any defensive work, Scannell would be another Leads.
Jacob Butterfield looks decent as well, as you'd expect from someone once bought for 5 million.

Sign one of them or use the money to keep JCH?

Also, for those asking above, Payne has nine goals and five assists in 39 games (33 starts) for them this season. Which, for me, is a pretty decent rate for a struggling team at the bottom of the league.

Like I said Bradford have quality in their midfield, squad is not balanced though with weak defence and up top. Butterfield is on loan but you never know Derby my be happy to let him go but we probably couldn't afford him.
