Three to look out for, if selected, are Lucas Tomlinson, Tom Mehew and Harry Warwick. Good potential.

Lost 3-2. We were 3-0 down until the 89th minute until 2 quick and late consolation goals from Moore and Warwick.

I watched the game today and frankly rovers were quite poor and were constantly taken apart by southend on the break. Disappointed with deon moore who was sluggish though he did score late on. The only player who really caught the eye was lucas tomlimson who caused problems cutting onto his left foot from the right, his balance and control drew endless fouls.

Had a very enjoyable time watching development squad , a game in which we created and missed plenty of chances before staging a fightback in last 5 mins!could even have snatched a draw in the end. Not knowing all the players and no team sheets available had to work out who was who ,those who stood out were Tom Mehew,Russe(hope he gets opportunity to continue his development)our number 11,Tomlinson?who needs toughening up, and the two late subs Warwick and Walker,Hoole showed great skills going forward but not sure of defensive qualities, the strikers missed good chances to score and cris lines showed why he probably wont play for first team again though he did vary his corners ,sometimes he put his hand up,others he didn't,but it was still exactly the same ball into the box!anyway good to watch a game with no nerves!!

Moore should have scored twice before this And that linesman gave an offside when 20 yards behind play ... quality

Probally suggests the majority won't be here next season. Or they wanted to look at more of the younger player's, before deciding on whether to keep them at the club due next season.

The only player who really caught the eye was lucas tomlimson who caused problems cutting onto his left foot from the right, his balance and control drew endless fouls. I actually thought we had the majority of possession and created the better chances. We missed a number of good opportunities in the first half and Moore should have definitely scored with his header towards the end of the first 45. IMHO there is no way we deserved to go in at half time losing, but we need to be more clinical and do better in both boxes. Their goal was a good header, but the lad was totally unmarked and given a free header. Even though Moore missed a number of chances the encouraging thing was he kept getting in the positions to miss them and eventually got the goal I thought he deserved. Needs to work on his hold up play and finishing, but there certainly looks to be a player in there. The stand out player for me was definitely Lucas Tomlinson. Low centre of gravity, good touch and close control, direct and good dribbling ability. Looks a promising player and I wouldn't mind him getting a few minutes at the weekend. Looks a promising player. Others to catch the eye for me were the right back Hoole who got forward well and created two decent assists, Zain Walker who came off the bench and looked lively and direct with quick feet and Harry Warwick who has a good frame, came on and got in some decent positions and got a goal. Warwick is another who needs to work on his hold up player, but a promising little cameo. I also thought Linesy did quite well and threaded a few decent passes in behind their back line and put in one or two decent pacey whipped in corners. Overall an enjoyable afternoon despite the end result.
