Bordeaux signed Sunderland's Maja for £3m if he's being linked with them with zero chance of signing him, I guess Carey could have a release clause in his contract and given he's Irish and west country based he my see a move to Rovers being an attractive one. I'm not sure why Curtis Nelson would leave Oxford just to join us, not sure we can offer him anymore than them at present? Bradford, Scunny & Walsall must be looking to offload some decent Div 1 players. As far as Nelson is concerned, if you don't ask, you don't get. Worth an enquiry with his agent at least. As for the relegated sides, Funso Ojo, Josh Morris and Ryan Colclough from Scunny, Jon Guthrie from Walsall and Sean Scannell from Bradford could do a job for us I reckon. I think there are some great calls here ... there were some very decent players at all of the relegated clubs and certainly people like Graham Carey would be at the top of my list. The lad at Bradford on loan from Huddersfield was also well known to GC and that could be an opportunity. i just hope we can get rid of the ‘dead and expensive wood’ that are claiming a lot of the budget. For the first time in a close season I have real confidence that our manager knows the division, knows who he wants and it’s truly down to player desire and of course funds to bring them in. Im not sure about any quality at Yeovil or even opportunity from Exeter, Swindon .. I wouldn’t be surprised though if we signed the reserve CB from Reading we had here.

Primarily a right back, he can also play as a CDM or fill in anywhere along the back four. He was a highly-rated pro at Cardiff and made an appearance in the Prem for them against Chelsea when he was 18-years-old. He's got a decent throw and can take a good freekick. www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-citys-class-2004-how-7228055.ampm.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=507070046441041&id=282326181873065

Kilgour will replace Lockyer I think we will be relying kids next season no big signings hope I am wrong on that I would be amazed if this happened, however much GC rates Kilgour. I'd expect him to be first cover for any injuries - which means he will get more games than this season. Gradual progression the likely route for him.

Confused as to why people keep suggesting Scannell from Bradford? Bloke has seemingly lived on the injury table the last few years and that's why he's not playing in the championship like his talent would suggest.
Surely if our wage and transfer budgets are limited then we can't afford to take risks on too many injury prone players?

I’m never a fan of signing players from relegated teams from our division. There is a reason they went down. EG Upson at MK Agreed.

I’m not sure what injury issues he’s had, but if he is over them I’d love to have him here.

I’m never a fan of signing players from relegated teams from our division. There is a reason they went down. EG Upson at MK Think Upson under DC was awful but under Coughlan has performed pretty well, but I completely disagree with that argument. For an example look at Shaqiri. At best average. His last 2 teams have been in relegation battles, usually says a lot about the quality or attitude of the player. Shaqiri has only started 12 games, he's made 24 appearances out of 37 games so I disagree with Shaqiri as an example. He'd a 2nd string player for Liverpool who also has attitude problems

6ft 5in centre back Ryan Tafazolli at Peterborough not being offered a new contract. That’s a surprise I would have thought. Was highly thought of, bad last six months I suppose. UTG!

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48065907 If Bonham is an unrealistic target and Newport don’t get promoted I’d like us to go after Joe Day the Newport Keeper. In terms of logistics I.e new family (famously ran out the ground this season to wife in labour), is only 45 minutes away from Newport, wanting to test himself at a higher level. I think it’s a plausible target. Then have Andre as his back up, not a fan of 2 first team keepers like we have had this and last season.

Some of the out of contract players that I've noticed that would be of interest to me are: Danny Mayor (Bury), Reece Brown (Forest Green), Jon Taylor (Rotherham), Josh Morris (Scunthorpe), Curtis Nelson (Oxford), Craig Noone (Bolton), Aaron Lewis (Swansea), Paul Downing (Blackburn), Graham Carey (Plymouth), Ruben Lameiras (Plymouth), Viv Solomon-Otabor (Birmingham), Callum O’Hare (Aston Villa), Bright Enobakhare (Wolves), Tom James (Yeovil), Sammie Szmodics (Colchester) and Jamie Devitt (Carlisle). Cian Harries from Swansea would also be a centre back that could do a job for us, although he isn't out of contract. Tommy Widdrington will obviously know him from his time at Coventry. Is Carey out of contract?? Only signed a new deal last season, thought it was for more than a year. Lamerias would be a great signing. He's been linked with Bordeaux though, so not sure if we can get him. Carey confirmed as out of contract and been offered a new deal. www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/plymouth-argyle-release-six-players-2842773

Piece of of cake this football management lark!!

He must have only signed a one year deal last summer then. Expect that's all that could tie him down to.

I don’t know if anybody rates him but I wouldn’t mind us taking Anthony Grant from Shrewsbury. Out of contract this summer and thought he was quality against us this season and last season when playing for Peterborough. Doesn’t seem to trade a lot of ground but dominates games from centre midfield

It's odd, but I recall very little about Leads in the Conference and would have saud he joined in the first season back in League 2. He was there in the Conference, of course, but my memory is of Tom Lockyer playing at right back, with McChrystal and Parkes in the middle. Perhaps Leads was injured a lot then? More likely I'm getting old and forgetful! No, you are right he didn’t play much but he scored the winner at Lincoln in September. UTG!

With Bonham being released by Brentford perhaps he’s one of the players Posh say they have already signed but Ferguson isn’t saying who yet. Esp as they have transfer listed Aaron Chapman. Don’t want another Posh cast off but Chapman was ok for us when he was here but would prefer Bonham. But I would have thought we’d have announced it if Bonham had agreed a contract with us. Nelson and Tafazolli would be good but do we need another Posh player? UTG!
