Yate came through the semi final, winning 5-3 on penalties after the game finished 1-1.
Now just one game away from promotion!
The final takes place tomorrow afternoon at Lodge Road.
Yate Town v Cinderford Play off Final Lodge Road 3pm K/O!

Cinderford were never going to be granted promotion. Yate cannot now be promoted as Horsham won. It's a terrible system that allows for clubs with a bit of money to mop up all the talent and make the season a procession. Whereas Southern League South was a genuine competition right up to the last game of the season.

I looked this up yesterday. Due to a restructuring of the leagues not all the play off winners at level 8 of the pyramid will be promoted. Due to results in other regions, Yate will be promoted if they win but Cinderford won't!

Sounds like a complete farce!

Heybridge swifts winning yesterday means yate go up if they win, if yate lose haybridge go up instead of them. Cinderford can not go up regardless of the result due to having a lower points per game than both heybridge and yate

One wonders if Cinderford will treat it as just a regular match considering nothing is on the line for them.

Yate had to have 2 results from other leagues go their way for them to even have a chance of getting promoted, this is why the heybridge result was so important as it was the 2nd of the two. Yate win heybridge don’t go up yate do. Yate lose heybridge are up.

Talk about making a dogs dinner of something so simple. that’s what happens when there are 7 leagues below and only 5 to be promoted into above or something silly like that.

So 2 teams who win their playoff for their respective league miss out entirely. Only 2 teams from each league of up still but some miss out even if they win the playoff for their league

Wow, a promotion play-off final.... A big day in the clubs history and a massive game for the fans.... Only it's not, because it's impossible to get promoted....
Honestly, who came up with that debacle of a format....

Sounds a complete farcical system. I'd offer to buy a fish and chip take away for the Cinderford players to throw it. Job done.
