I didn't really care if we lose or win when the draw was made but last night i watched a video of our cup run to the quarter finals. Now i'm not saying that's gonna happen but with all the doom and gloom around the place over past few years a good day out and one of the big clubs in 3rd round would be brilliant. We deserve a good day don't win? Now i'm not saying we'll get to the third round but with 2 home draws against anyone league 2 or below then we defiantly stand a chance even if we don't i wouldn't mind a trip to Coventry, Sheffield United, Preston, Swindon ect ect so here's hoping for a win Saturday. I'm even a bit tempted to go myself now!

We could have our longest run in the Facup ever (allowing for the fact we had to enter a round earlier than normal!) you should go I promised my twins we would go to every round where ever we are playing

I love a run in the FA Cup, the whole completion just has a great, classic football sort of feel! I'd love to get to the 3rd round and beyond.
Just hoping that we win on Saturday!

It definitely still has it's for the lower teams! Think the FA Cup is definitely viewed differently by the top clubs though now and is not as prestigious as it once was.

The top 6-7 in the Prem are desperate to get in the champions league and the rest are desperate to stay up. Everything else for them is unimportant compared to that. But I think from the championship down its still a big and important competition. Championship clubs have shown in recent seasons that they can realistically get to the final and the likes of league1-2 and non league sides will always be up for a giant killing and the money a big tie brings.

There is a collective insanity in the Premiership about cups in general IMO. Newcastle and Aston villa have pretty much stated openly that they are not interested in trying to win trophies and the team selections of many clubs come cup-ties shows that most feel the same. This is mind-boggling. I cannot imagine why these clubs exist, if not to win trophies. If they are only interested in making money, they should sell up and invest their proceeds in banking or something. Recently, Spurs put out a second-string side in the Europa. I noticed that they were playing under a huge sign "The game is about glory." Hah! Why not try to win the cup you're playing in then? These people are mad.
Rant over.

They basically live to try and stay in the premier league and the reality is staying up is looked at like winning an award for at least half the clubs in the Prem. I think I'd rather support a yoyo club like QPR seem to be or West brom used to be than see my club happily get knocked out of all the cups and finish mid table every season. Maybe if they handed the cup winner a champions league spot it would change I dunno.

They get in the UCL to earn enough money to get players to get them into the UCL, to earn enough money to get players to get them into the UCL... What's the point? Wenger said last year, "I don't know why people say we haven't won a trophy for 8 years, we have come in the top four every time." Try putting a photo of coming 4th on your bedroom wall when you're 10 years old, mate.

And this is where my love for Football at the highest level ended. What is the point if you don't want to win the FA Cup? In fact what is the point of playing football if your only aim is to stay in the Premiership? I consider myself lucky to support Bristol Rovers where at least the aim is to be the best we can. This is why I totally disagree with anybody who says we are better off out of the cups to concentrate on going up.

The simplest way to end the monopoly of the premier league greed mongers is to turn your tellys off and get down the mem.
I don't have Sky or BT. The only football my boy sees is Rovers.
He thinks it odd you can support a team you can't watch.
