Hope he doesn't sign, better options out there, with out a fee being involved.

Wouldn't be adverse to another loan/free transfer. There's definitely a player in there but it's unearthing that that will be the issue. If GC persists with the midfield three (which has worked well during his reign) then likely that means just JCH up front so can't see where Jak would be fit from a tactical POV.

Bristol Rovers are in talks to sign dynamic forward Alex Jakubiak on a permanent basis, manager Graham Coughlan has revealed. Jakubiak, 22, signed on loan for Rovers on transfer deadline day in August from Premier League club Watford and went on to score five goals in 44 appearances for the club, mainly used as a second-half impact substitute. The highlight of his time at the club were a couple of wonder goals in the EFL Trophy as Rovers reached the semi-finals of the competition before they were knocked out by Sunderland , and a brace in the 2-0 victory away at Oxford United in League One in December. He certainly did enough to impress his manager with Coughlan revealing in his interview with Geoff Twentyman on BBC Radio Bristol’s ‘Having A Gas’ that he is in conversation about bringing him back to the Mem ahead of the 2019/20 season. Coughlan said: "Alex as you know has gone back to Watford his parent club, we had him on loan obviously. "I would like to explore that one and try and get him back to be quite honest. "I just think Alex needs to find a home, he can’t keep jumping around to loan teams, jumping from here to there." The dynamic forward has been on loan to Falkirk, Wycombe Wanderers, Fleetwood Town, Dagenham & Redbridge, Oxford United and Braintree during his time at Watford who he has made one appearance for, playing in a 4-1 defeat to Huddersfield in May 2014. He is under contract at Vicarage Road for another year so there will likely be a transfer fee involved, although wih Jakubiak not part of the first-team picture under Javi Gracia, it's likely to be a minimal fee, or he could return on another loan agreement. Coughlan added : "We love him at the club, we enjoyed working with him. He has got some good people around him who want to push him on and do a little bit with him next season. "I would be delighted if Alex picked up and phone and said he wants to join us. "It is underway. I have spoken to Alex, i have done that weeks ago, months ago actually. I have made my feelings clear to Alex. "But again it is a big show, Watford are in the Premier League and the young lads can see that and possibly don’t want to step away from it, but that is another conversion we have had and gone along the lines of." Coughlan's summer transfer plans are beginning to take shape with the 44-year-old revealing he wants more pace and power in his squad after releasing 10 players earlier this week including club favourites Chris Lines and Stuart Sinclair . The Irishman also confirmed talks have begun over bringing goalkeeper Jack Bonham back to the club on a permanent deal while he has been in discussions with a number of clubs and targets as he looks to rebuild and reshape the Rovers squad .

We can't surely have just JCH up front next Season. With Nichols still on the books it would be good to have an alternative depending on whom or where we're playing?

Would rather his Watford teammate Ryan Cassidy on loan.

No I agree entirely, I just mean if we're sticking with the one-up-top set-up then Jak won't be starting - therefore no point signing him when we currently have four strikers on the books.

Reilly, Nichols, are you including JCH in that? I'm missing a few.

Alex didn't get much game time with JCH last season, but when they were on the field together I liked the look of them as a partnership .

Not many players seem to give their all when on loan. He certainly has something, but he needs to step up a gear. GC said he wants to play a high pressing game so maybe he's got a partnership in mind with JCH. Mensah could slot in there too as he's similar to Reilly in his darting runs. I don't think he was given a fair crack here to be honest. Needed nurturing.

Good signing if he joins imo.... We don't see him in training but he's obviously impressed, and i think there's more to come in development.... Think if he's contracted and gets regular footy he might make the step up to a really decent player....

To be honest he is not a Prem League striker and I don't think he will ever develop into one. Watford are really looking to develop players to play in the Prem. They probably want to offload him I would have thought. For us, he would be a good striker as part of a four-player striker grouping to play through the season.

Hopefully GC will getting him up to speed and start scoring a few.

Decent pace and always seems to get his head down and run in a straight line. If our coaches could teach him to get his head up and cross the ball well he’d make a good winger / inside forward. He’s very rough around the edges at the moment though.

Not entirely opposed to Jak signing, but I think there's better options out there. We already have Nichols and Reilly on his role and he's not a target man like JCH - that's gonna be Moore's niche, probably.
Though I guess we could try him as an inside forward...

I think this is positive if only as an indication to GC's potential style of play next season. AJ is a striker that will only benefit from the ball on the deck. Had we been linked to footballs equivalent of Magic Johnson i would be worried. Of course we already have a magic Johnson! Now Tilly, before you pipe up i am not referring to Harry potters c@ck!
