Genuine question, if you're a fan who's debating whether or not to buy one, what would sway you in the direction of buying one? Is it the football? Price? I'm sure both together influence. Obviously last season was a bad one, would a boring mid table finish next season sway you to buy? Or do you want to challenge a bit more? Anything above mid table and we are punching well above our weight, realistically, I think we need to realise this, The Championship is out of reach with our structure and facilities. You forgot ability.

Having listened to chap on Radio Briz this morning highlighting the financial difficulties in football at our level and Rovers in particular it makes you realize how fragile the day to day running of clubs is.One staggering figure being that of every 100 pounds earned 97 pounds goes in wages! This would explain the lack of spending on training ground and the like,we have to accept that the owners ,while ensuring our survival, can not throw money at projects ad-hock and steering us through very choppy financial waters is going to require a lot of skill , dedication, and sound financial common sense. We have it seems been paying good wages to some players and without any major revenue streams or big transfer fees to help out we have to accept its going to be tough to prosper on the pitch and perhaps we should be grateful the owners are keeping us afloat if not exactly taking us forward. A lot of clubs are in the same position as us and unless you are lucky enough to have a Lansdowne at the helm who can underwrite huge operational losses and continue to expand , the game at our level is going to have to change and live within its means ,just like the rest of us have to. ON the subject of the huge wages paid to in some cases very average players i think its time these players and there greedy agents got real! Given the choice of earning 500.00 pound a week working on a building site , in a ware house, in a bank, in a call center, driving a hgv, or playing football most of us would choose the latter would we not?By all means top up earnings by your shirt sales ,sponsorship and the like, lets start a debate i.e all players playing in the same tier get the same basic salary and the best one earn more by sponsorship, and a cut from the like s of there shirt sales , there thats a start , now i am going into hiding! but seriously something has to change in the game for it to survive ,in my humble opinion!

It's sad really that IMO we will not realise an ambition - I guess its all about just watching a football match now - whether in this league or below. We could well be one of a significant number of clubs that enter into administration over the next few years. The latest figures reinforce the perpetual financial downward spiral of the club - all very sad. Attracting good players here is going to be very difficult if the players agent is doing his job properly. The Bury and Bolton situation in particular will make most players/agents very conscious of what they are signing up to.

No seriously though, you should still be able to view it without being logged on/signed up. Gist is we're losing approx. £65k per week and are only still alive thanks to owner input. BLUF, when the owners stop putting money in, we're the next Hereford/Darlington/etc.

Admittedly I'm surmising but I assume it was the same potential that Sonny Pike had.

To me it will be unforgivable and the For me it will be the final indignity if we ever enter administration. We have always been able to hold our heads up high on that score (if not much else). Geoff Dunford managed to avoid it when we were left in the sh** at Eastville.

Well seeing it was Geoff that brought Dennis in as prior to that he had no interest in football then If Geoff had decided to walk away like everyone else at the time the club would have gone under. I think Geoff’s role is dismissed too easily, but amend to the Dunfords

Thing is it may happen to us, but it will happen too most of the clubs in league one and two unless 'we' all change our ways and the bottomw two divions will be further away from The CHampionship then ever.
Football is f**ked. City sold Lloyd Kelly for £13m and he has played less than 50 games. It's insane

For all those people complaining that DC wasn’t backed enough and that we always make free transfers, I hope they realise from this that Rovers spend right up to their financial constraints on the transfer budget to fund a decent team for the season, it’s pretty unrealistic to suggest that the budget could be increased further without running into huge difficulties. I just hope that Coughlan and Widdrington manage to make the most of it this time around.

Too much commonsense halifax. Yes you are probably right and we can probably remember the 60s and 70s when players were probably payed above the average but not wildly. Now it’s gone crazy and poor or mediocre players make wage demands way beyond their ability and the club’s ability to pay, but somehow they do. I guess, and it’s only my opinion, that our owner’s big mistake was to say when they bought the club that money was not a problem and the ground was not dependent on them getting money, it was already there. (Or words to that effect) It gave unrealistic expectations to the fan base. Dont go into hiding halifax, just enjoy the Summer and enjoy all the signings that we make!😉 UTG!
