Not sure what to make of this. I think a lot of people would like to see White have a run in the side but if Clarke isn't going to do this anytime soon then surely it is better for eveyone involved if Jamie got some minutes (and hopefully goals) under his belt.
Perhaps if we do get someone in soon then Clarke might approve this as if he was to go, that would only leave us with the 3 strikers.

It's a bit of a shocker that our supposedly star Conference striker this season is wanted by a Conference South side, who must surely pay peanuts compared to our players salaries? Perhaps we could swap him for Kuffour!

Realistically, Saturday is the perfect chance for White to start a game. He impresses on Saturday and he's got to be favorite to lead the attack next weekend.

I want to agree with this but atm from what i have witnessed i am not at all happy with white's pace. He seem's ridiculously slow, unless this was down to his injury and he has progressed since.

Agreed. I wouldn't partner him with Cunnington because of this reason. Would be a very slow strikeforce. Has to be partnered with Taylor or Harrison IMO so we still have someone who offers pace in behind.

As Stewart said about Tuesdays game. White is a penalty box player. He may not make the runs of Taylor or have his all round game, but I'm guessing put in the box he puts away more of the chances.

From the game White started, think it was Halifax, I thought he looked slow until the one time he got the ball with half chance of goal. Then he came alive and looked fairly sharp.
I think issue is always creating chances and whether the hardworking nature of Taylor (I fully accept his scoring record is poor but his general play is important to us ) helps create a number of the chance we are missing!
What I do know if White doesn't play we'll never know!

I would play Jamie White and Ellis up front tomorrow; surely Clarke will play two up top; and bench Cunnington and hapless Taylor. UTG

UTG That's the strike forces we started with against Gloucester City, I assume reserve side on Tuesday, which finished with a poorly performing Harrison being subbed early in the second half with the score 1-0 to our opponents!

Our real problem is our non existent midfield. The strikers we have, are not the best in the league granted, but the amount of chances we create is p1ss poor. We need a midfield play maker and a decent winger and hopefully get Balanta fit as the other winger and whoever we pair up top should be good enough for this league.

A poor midfield didn't lead to us missing 5 clear cut chances against FGR? We're also missing our best midfielder in Sinclair.

Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke says Jamie White is "going nowhere"
By JamesMcNamara | Posted: October 27, 2014
Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke says striker Jamie White is “going nowhere” after a host of clubs expressed an interest in doing a deal to take him on loan.
The former Southampton trainee, who boasts an impressive goalscoring record at Conference Premier level, has endured a slow start to life at the Memorial Stadium since arriving from Salisbury Town in the summer.
A lack of fitness on arrival and the improved form of the team in recent weeks are factors that have combined to restrict White’s involvement to three starts and six apperances from the bench.
He has also yet to register a senior goal for Rovers, but that hasn’t served to put off potential suitors with ambitious Conference South outfit Sutton United reported to have had a bid to take the striker on loan rebuffed last week.
Clarke added on Monday morning that a number of other clubs had made informal enquiries regarding White’s availability over recent weeks, but he added: “Jamie won’t be going anywhere.”
He added: “He is working hard to get into my team and I am not in a position to be loaning out my expereinced players because we haven’t got a big squad.
“There are some very good players who have yet to really have a sustained opportunity to show me what they can do this season and Jamie is one that falls into that category.
“People keep asking me why Jamie hasn’t been playing, but, the simple fact of the matter is, we have had a good run of results, so it has been hard for me to change things around.
“It is up to those boys to keep training hard in order to take any opportunity that comes along because they often come along at unexpected times and they have to be ready.
“Sometimes it takes players that little bit longer than others to settle in, but Jamie is a confident lad and when the time is right to hand him an opportunity I know he has the ability to take it.”
Clarke complemented White on his contribution when introduced from the bench in the 7-1 FA Cup victory over Dorchester at the weekend – but competition for the two available places up front is expected to be even greater over the coming weeks.
Ellis Harrison put himself at the fore-front of Clarke’s thoughts by grabbing a hat-trick at the Avenue Stadium on Saturday, while Angelo Balanta is also expected to return to full-time training later this week.
Clarke is also continuing in a bid to bolster the squad before Rovers go to Telford on Saturday, but he said: “We have got good options available to us but it would help us if we could get one or two of them hitting the back of the net on a more regular basis.
“We’ve lacked a clinical edge in some of our games this season, so to score seven times, albeit against lower-level opposition, on Saturday, is good for the confidence of the players.”
On Harrison, Clarke added: “He is working hard and enjoying his football and that is good to see. He did well on Saturday and is certainly staking claim for more regular starts.
“I wasn’t happy with the lad at the end of last season, but he has really knuckled down and come back after the summer with a new and improved attitude and that is all credit to him.”

Apart from Brunt going to York City that is.
expereinced? how do you pronounce that then?

I call that one common sense - Brunt goes to York, gets match fit and comes back to Rovers ready to be effective again. Or maybe Rovers want him off the payroll, but that's a different subject.

I don't disagree with you at all. It's just the statement saying we can't loan players out due to the size of the squad, when we already have.
