"Dirk Kuyt and Rob Jansen want to buy football club in England" Rob Jansen is about to buy a football club from England. He's doing this together with a few former football players, who put money into the football broker's project. Among them is former international Dirk Kuyt. Jansen says that Friday evening in the television program Jaïr in goed Gezelschap on NPO1. Jansen cannot yet say what club it is. The negotiations are at an advanced stage. It is a long-held wish to buy a club together with the number of players and former players for whom I am doing business. The players and I have a utopian image of how that club should be led and what it takes to achieve the highest. I am really looking forward to this adventure. I think there is a good chance that it will succeed says Jansen.
This is a club from the League One, the third professional level in England. It is possible that this concerns Bolton Wanderers, which has been waiting for a takeover since this month.

I wonder where here it's going to go? Surely they have enough clubs in Holland, and even the biggest don't get that good a crowd.

Did they just misunderstand when they heard we were growing weeds on our training ground?

Good Shout!! Think there's some mileage in this - any linkage to the recruitment of a Dutch goalkeeper😉

Typical Bolton potentially get a group of investors who are all interested in football, we get taken over by a family who knew little about football. #onlyatrovers

If they're buying Bolton, I hope they've got deep pockets.
Their debts were up to & £200 million last season, but apparently the owner wrote off £170 million. I guess a year later that has gone up again. With them not paying their £1.2 million tax bill or the players, I would say that they're still in a mess.

If all goes according to plan GC out as ex West Ham, Pat Holland will be brought in, Neil Diamond out and the Beautiful South in across the PA system.

Sunderland have strong links with Feyenoord. But you never know they might want to start from scratch. 😀 UTG

Marc Iles, journo with the Bolton Papers, has confirmed no one involved with Bolton has had any contact with these Dutch people.

Obviously the stadium is the biggest issue for the club, but if you have the money and are willing to spend it, I could think of worse football clubs to take over.
Nice City and area to live in, passionate fanbase and a big catchment area of between 700,000 and 1,000,000 people or more...
Involved in the record attendance for a League Two Playoff Final against Shrewsbury and the record attendance for a Conference Premier/National League game for the final against Grimsby.
What was it Gareth Ainsworth said last season?
“I call this a proper football club, it’s a historic football club with big, big support – you get this place rocking, people know about it and away teams know about it.
“So they have that advantage."
