I am concerned that we are far too light on attacking options, 2 weeks until first league game of the season and we have not really strengthened the area we struggled with the most throughout last season.
Who is going to be a creative players in the midfield, provide the width, who would start up front?
Do you think we will bring any attacking players in?
It's hard to pick a balanced midfield, majority are center midfielders and do wonder whether Bennett are most senior wide man wants to be at the club.
Strikers has to be JCH if he is staying and I like the look of Deon Moore... Nichols and the others will have to wait to have another chance.

Do you think we will bring any attacking players in? Yep, pretty sure we'll see a couple more.

I’m feeling pretty relaxed about it actually. We have Little and Leahy that will provide the attacking impetus we were lacking in our fullbacks last season, we have a recognised goalscorer in JCH who will hopefully pick up from where he left off, Rodman, Sercombe and Bennett fingers crossed will have better seasons and there’s still time to bring to bolster our attacking options further.
I still think it’s imperative that we bring in a left winger as that remains a position we are weak in and a creative centre midfielder to replace Lines but having witnessed yesterday’s friendly I’m optimistic we will have a better season than last.

I think we will be bringing in a left winger from "up North" and a young CH from Ireland

Whilst we struggled to score goals last season, the old saying of you only need to score one more than the opposition is still a factor in football. We had a great defence last season which alongside JCH’s moments of brilliance is what kept us in the division. We may have lost Lockyer and Bonham from that defence but I have faith in GC to of replaced these players and I am expecting us to have another season where we are solid at the back. IMO the width this season and our main attacking threats will come from the fullback positions. Leahy and Little look to be very capable players and I’m very happy with these additions. I think you are right in our midfield being unbalanced and the addition of a left sided midfielder is a must. IMO there are goals in our midfield and I’m hoping we can keep Rodman and Clarke on the pitch for the vast majority of the season as I think both players are capable of getting double figures. Sercombe seems a bit of a enigma of late and I just hope there is a way of bringing back the sercombe we seen in his first season over the one we seen last as we all know there is a good player in there capable of getting on the scoresheet. I am hoping that GC has a few additions still to add and if I was to prioritise two positions that would be a left sided midfielder and a striker. The striker position is a tough one as I think we will maybe have to move one or two on to bring one in. Although I think Moore has great potential and looks like he can develop into a very good player I wouldn’t want to be relying on him at this stage to partner JCH and score the amount of goals we will need from him.

The problem is, Strikers always command higher wages, and leave their decisions to the last minute, even the crap ones like Payne

Is it that we’re too light or are we just not convinced by the options we do have?
Wingers - rodman, bennett, Mensah, sercombe? THD? Matthews? jakubiak?
Forwards - JCH, Nicholls, Reilly, Smith, Moore
I’d say we’re not light but looking at these options can we be reassured the above will create many chances, attacking threats and goals to keep us away from the drop?

I think our defence will be good this season, but I also think it will be NEXT season when we see the contracts of Nichols and Reilly up that we can get better forwards in, especially if we have a decent cup run this season (like get past round one !)

With the majority of the starting XI vs Brum being senior players, I thought we played well first half and put together some very decent football in the attacking third of the pitch.
No worries from me at all.

The problem is, Strikers always command higher wages, and leave their decisions to the last minute, even the crap ones like Payne Payne clearly didn't leave his decision to the last minute, nor did Norwood he replaced at Tranmere, plus Eves has signed for Hull Is it that we’re too light or are we just not convinced by the options we do have? Wingers - rodman, bennett, Mensah, sercombe? THD? Matthews? jakubiak? Forwards - JCH, Nicholls, Reilly, Smith, Moore I’d say we’re not light but looking at these options can we be reassured the above will create many chances, attacking threats and goals to keep us away from the drop? It seems pointless listing THD, Matthews & JaK as options as we might not see the first two for months and never see Jak. I also assume Mensah will leave or if he stays hardly play. It would be interesting to know what the score is with Bennett, is GC really going to start him in the friendlies if he's hoping to move him on? I think our defence will be good this season, but I also think it will be NEXT season when we see the contracts of Nichols and Reilly up that we can get better forwards in, especially if we have a decent cup run this season (like get past round one !) No point in thinking about next season until we've survived this season in Div 1, plus if JCH has another good season we'll probably lose him as well so I doubt we'll be any better off strikers wise.

Think the threat will be provided by full backs ,where we have strengthened ,especially distribution and crossing ability and who ever is up front will benefit from much improved service, no worries from me, also hoping Tomlinson can be impact sub.

I think most of us would welcome the addition of a striker, left winger and creative midfielder before the window shuts but I doubt we will see all these positions filled.
Although last season was tough we should remember that under GC's watch we did better than our final league position suggests.
If GC can at least replicate our win / draw rate since he was in charge then we should find ourselves in and around mid table which I would be happy with tbh.
I feel that our defence should be at least as strong as last season especially if Scales signs. With the addition of Little, Leahy & Smith and perhaps if Moore can break through as a sub and replace the role that Jakubiak played and also Bennett can be allowed to thrive in our set up then we ought to be better off in terms of attacking play.
I would rather GC brought in one more quality player now (preferably a striker) and than sign 3 average players tbh.

We’ve got players there but so far we’ve done well, imo, in getting what we’ve got. In a way looking at what you’ve said we might have to put up with the strikers we have and they could do well. It’s our midfield I’d be more worried about, our strikers get stick but we don’t create too many chances for them do we? We just didn’t create chances last season and we’ve not signed any real creativity so far to think it will be any different. I think we’ll play with two better FBs who will get forward more so that will be an improvement. Also GC said he wanted a smaller squad so I’d expect some MF or forwards going out before others come in. Theres still time to go but I think our FBs will become very important to us next season as it stands. But I’m more optimistic this close season than I was last year. As ever time will tell. UTG!

We have little or no attacking threat. The problems from last season have simply not been addressed. Let's not kid ourselves - apparently JCH was carrying a 'niggle' for the last few matches and was average at best. We managed to score 10 goals and win just 2 games in the last 10 matches with three of those goals coming against a very poor Bradford City team who we struggled against and we were lucky to beat. The manager has brought in another lightweight forward to add to Nichols & Reilly (& Mensah) why I wonder? I guess Deon Moore on a short term contract will take SP's (or AJ's) place on the bench or lead the attack if JCH's injury problems persist. With little or no creativity in midfield i feel that next season is not going to be pretty to watch - again!!

I think we’ll start the season more expansively with plenty of attacking flair and then realise that like last season it will be a long hard slog to stay up and we’ll ditch the craft in favour of graft.....about halfway through the Blackpool game should do it!

Still plenty of time to get someone in as always plenty of last minute deals ala Lambert. Trust in GC he’s fine fine already

Championship window closes before the first game while League One and Two is still open for a couple of weeks.
I expect clubs in league One will be doing a bit of business, even if it is mainly loans in those couple of weeks for players who may have been hanging on, or are suddenly out of favour and want game time

GCs L1 record with a crap team and attack apparently W 9 D 10 L 6 I'll leave it with you Blueridge as to guess where that put us in the table for those 25 games.
