Not sure if any of you have heard, but it seems that the football club has told screen soccer that their services are no longer required. This means no more Dave Rogers and Andy Warren being broadcast in the bars after home games! But why has the football club dispensed with something that has brought enjoyment to many fans since screen soccer started up in our Twerton years. Don’t the football club care about us fans? Screen Soccer is Bristol Rovers and will be missed.

Could be something to do with screening rights from the EFL

Maybe we will be doing it ourselves? Maybe the EFL are now in charge? I’d like to hear the other side of the coin before getting worked up about this. I’m sure the club have something else lined up and I’d rather we were ran like a proper business rather than a ‘jobs for the boys’ club, sad as it may be to have to stop some services from supporters of the club who have worked with it for a long time.

No doubt the Screen Soccer guys have put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears doing a superb job with the filming of matches over the years & we can always be grateful for the service provided. But it has always struck me as bizarre that we’re made to watch the highlights in the bar, barely 30mins after said game has ended? Especially if its one of the more mundane fixtures! It can be even more frustrating if there is a rather decent premiership or championship match being shown live & we have to miss out on that.
But then I’m a huge fan of the EFL highlights show on Quest, with Colin Murray so more than happy to hang on until 9pm to catch the goals.

Probably a good reason; we do like to have every single change explained in full, so I am sure the reason will follow, following the question.

Now that is funny! 😉 Everything else I agree with. But perhaps when the football club make these decisions a brief explanation as to why would save a lot of questions and in the end would show the club in a better light. There may be very good reasons for their decision. UTG!

It's sad and a mistake IMO. That said I would like to hear the other side
With the advent of Ifoolow, EFL cobntracts and streaming the club presumably have acces to highlights from all the games
will season reviews or special releases be made avialbe on the follow platform to stream and/or download

Only right to talk to the affected parties first before making official annoucements.
People would only moan if someone found out they were sacked by a story on the OS

Do Screensoccer do the ifollow coverage, my guess they don’t so it’s probably cheaper to have just the on provider of the service,

Screen Soccer is Bristol Rovers and will be missed. Don’t very often go in the bars afterwards , and not bought any of the videos for years now, so really no effect on me, but loved the commentaries. However, it should be easy for the club to communicate reasons for this & not leave themselves open to speculation as to the reasons why. If it is an EFL requirement to show Prem or Championship games, as part of the Sky sponsorship then say so - although how they feel screen soccer is competition I really don’t know. Some may not like the reasons & it would be up to us to let the club know. I suppose we are a much more professionally run club these days, and are probably drawing up NDA’s as we speak. Ah well, everything changes - but nothing’s new.

Only a problem for the few who go in the bars after the game I would suggest and after last seasons games who would want to see losses to the likes of Wycombe and Doncaster to name but two, immediately after watching ninety minutes of dross live!

As mentioned, perhaps we should hang fire and find out the facts before being a bit too outraged.
