I think this has nothing todo with the EFL as screen soccer uses their own equipment for filming. Can’t see how this would interfere with the highlights programme on Quest or any contract with Sky. And like most have said, let’s have a statement from the football club regarding this decision.

Its not to do with equipment, its to do with TV rights.

It’s a shame really. Even though the commentary was proper Bristolian you could relate to the passion as a supporter. It’s just another disconnection between the fans and the businesses that football clubs have become today.
I really enjoyed the productions. It’s a shame, but part and parcel of modern football unfortunately.

Sad news. Thanks for your efforts Dave and Andy.
Unless the club have alternative entertainment plans, I think the bar revenue after matches is going to be greatly reduced.
After a win, you often saw people pop in for a drink while waiting for the traffic to disperse and stayed on to watch Screen Soccer and many went as soon as the highlights finished.
I understand the cost to the club only just covered the cost to produce the highlights. (and then the difference was probably paid over the bar by Dave and Andy, colleagues and family members anyway)
Hopefully not another "professional" decision at the expense of loyalty and individuality a la Keith Brookman.
Maybe the SC could pay for Screen Soccer highlights exclusively in their bar if it is a money saving issue?

I’d happily make a million dollar bet (the kind of money I don’t even have) that the majority of people don’t make way to the Thatchers Bar post match, purely for the highlights of goals they have just seen with their own eyes.

The Club’s media output is becoming quite professional and impressive.
No doubt Tom G has an alternative planned.

I’m sure we’re able to source highlights from the EFL or elsewhere?

To be honest I was not a fan of the thick Bristolian accent doing the commentary. To me it was just another reminder of rag bag Rovers so if the new system is going to be more professional and a better product then I'd prefer that.

I’m sure we’re able to source highlights from the EFL or elsewhere? To my knowledge, Screen Soccer provided the footage to the EFL for use on the Colin Murray extravaganza.
Dave, Andy and the team do a great job. Nobody can fault their enthusiasm, but maybe it is time to become more professional like some of the other aspects of the club.

Hopefully not another "professional" decision at the expense of loyalty and individuality a la Keith Brookman. Indeed. How dare an organisation with a turnover of £6m seek professionalism over individualism and single points of failure.

Funny how it’s the same people who complain we’re making losses to the tune of millions a year complain about us making efficiencies to reduce said costs. Then also complain about us not spending enough in the transfer windows and also complain when things go wrong. Getting the balance right is a tricky task.

Good riddance. Small baby steps in becoming less tinpot. Seeing it was Gasheads providing the service how about, “Thank you for the 30 years of coverage, but we have decided we can do it differently”. Being less tinpot you can still treat people in a decent way. Good riddance is a attitude I would prefer not to have at the club unless someone is doing something destructive.

Do Screen Soccer do the 'Matchday Moments' videos?

Do Screen Soccer do the 'Matchday Moments' videos? I believe that is conducted by the young chap who runs the Rovers Twitter account. You’ll see him in a ‘press’ high vis on a Match Day with his held hand camera.
