The original Bristol post article from the BP (published 08/08) said it was a crucial 2/3 weeks for the sale. I wonder if anyone has heard anything new? Regardless of how untrustworthy the source 😏. "Should be an announcement before the end of September. Was speaking to a major property developer in Bristol on Monday, it’s the talk of the City in his field. I also heard at the ground last night it’s full steam ahead now, advanced stages with the council. My property contact has said all the trades and building contractors are scrambling around to get in on the project with in his words, an imminent recession to hit the UK in 2020 and they will all need the work. Went onto say ideal time to build, 3 years time when Brexit gone and out of recession we will have take advantage of building costs and competition for work." Didn't roady (a41) or someone else (Banned word probably) write that recently ? Word for word actually by the looks of it . 😳

I also said that this information was already on page 113... Keep up 🤭

Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos Football have bought Nice FC in France and have looked at many clubs for value and potential. Could we fall into that bracket? The owners are supposedly British based but it's just a theory. I'm struggling to think of many people willing to sink millions into a stadium site and a football club but he could certainly be one. He's a mad Man Utd supporter - I think he owns a Swedish team as well I'd imagine it's unlikely he'd buy a team in England

Shows he's not afraid of having sporting involvement over here.

Although we have the 'incider's telling us it's not a consortium, but you're telling us it is. Personally, I get the feeling BC is closer to the truth. You said your mate is an instigator of the deal, I believe?

Could a top flight foreign team buy a UK club as a "feeder" - got a feeling this has already happened with Teams owning clubs in other countries ? Would this be a good thing or a bad thing ? I guess I would not object to a top flight overseas club owning us if it funded us at a Championship level ? The reality is we are never going to compete at the top level so would this be a good outcome or would it be selling our soul .... When clubs spend 100's of millions on players funding a Championship club sort of makes sense, you would also think they have large squads that they would "loan". Is this the way football is going to go ? I guess I would prefer it to seeing Man City's U23's playing in the lower leagues.

Maybe when they learned the Gas was in Horfield, they thought they'd better buy the Mem to do some fracking.

In an interview after Ineos took over Nice, he basically admitted that they've made mistakes with Lausanne but have now corrected them and are starting to see the benefits. Interesting model nonetheless. I agree with you and Gassy though, be surprised if he bought a club over here though on paper we'd surely fall into "value and potential" bracket given the size and location of Bristol...

I'm pretty sure Watford & Udinese had the same owners and swapped players like Bolders swaps Condoms

Ah my bad, thought it was Sweden, not Switzerland. Do we have value, though? Potential - yes. But I struggle to see how someone could come in, build us a stadium and make a profit - especially at the FM. It just seems to be worth too much

No regarding instigator, I or any of my contacts are NOT directly involved Technically I can see what 'incider's' is saying, technically not a consortium as such. The BBC report was bang on the nail and the fruit market is key, without it - back to square one.
The time scale always gets the heart pulsating - but as with everything, things change for the good and bad, BCC could come out of this smelling of roses.

Ah right, I thought you said your mate was going to make a sizeable sum if the deal goes through. Perhaps I read into it wrong

There was a rumour or hotel, cinema, shops & restaurants but I don't remember anything concrete. Could be wrong though
