It does make you laugh, but I don't think Lansdown is that desperate tbh Surely millions of £'s its worth more than Bristol Sport buying their fruit? Worth a lot to Lansdown to frustrate and ultimately tie up in knots Rovers and the Council and I think he could do just that personally with legal challenges. Is it really? Sadly we're light years behind City, do you really think he see's us as a threat? Even with a new stadium we're still going to be way behind as he's happy to keep p1ssing him money away on them.

So they're talking to others then? Announcement soon. Seriously. There's a serious announcement soon, or there's an announcement soon, seriously? Or, how many "n's" you can get into a reply?

Yes we are years behind, but that does not mean that things can change. With a new ground, we would be on a more level playing field. My best mate is a Burnley fan. For years they were in the lower league's and were below Blackburn. They had also lost every derby against them for years and he even had to watch them win the Premier League. We are in the same city, so we will always be a threat to them. We are not an immediate threat, but anything can happen long term.

I think the death star attack in star wars is a better analogy than Burnley v Blackburn....

They have more than they know what to do with. Their owner has yet again, written off £70 mil of debt. That's not far off what our owner is worth. I can't see us troubling them on any level for many, many years, if at all.

There just has to be compensation to TP that is greater than the value they would get by selling up to us. I wonder how many ‘0’s there are on the contract they have just signed to be a supplier to City?

Yves Saint Laurent's lesser known younger brother. Yves Terry Laurent got the thin end of the wedge there.

He was concerned enough to buy Taylor off us. I agree that really we should be immaterial to City, but that transfer and their conduct around it shows that we still matter to them. A lot.

I was about to argue against that by saying that Blackburn and Burnley are probably a lot closer in terms of finance...but then Blackburn of course had Jack Walkers millions which they don’t anymore. City of course have a succession plan in place with Jon Lansdown now in charge and the old man propping them up with his money....but you never know in football. Should that money be pulled out they could be in a precarious position one of these days

I said a while ago it was too much of a coincidence that the sh** announced a partnership with Total Produce a day after Wael mentioned we were looking there.
Maybe i am a paranoid, but i wouldn't be surprised if the Lansdown have been actively help delaying anything that might be going on.

This thread has perked up a bit in the last day or so with endless ill-informed speculation. Don't worry, I've done my bit on that front.
It was descending into tits and bums jokes, which are of course welcome, but maybe not on this thread.

It may be us Gasheads being cynical and paranoid, but after some of SL's quotes in the past, it really wouldn't surprise me that he's at least in part trying to obstruct any progress. To be fair he needn't feel like he needs to, we're perfectly good at obstructing our progress without outside intervention!

There are some funny coincidences- don’t forgot City had a tie-in with the UWE too. The odds are very high that it’s all just coincidence but it’s still an odd quirk that our business paths seem to keep crossing like this...

If whoever is buying the FM site is prepared to pay £30m+ to buy it off TP is SL really going to stop it by just throwing a £1m or so their way? The only real way to stop it is purchase the site from TP.
