Any update on the pasties please guys? Bollocks to the matchday thread Yep. Absolute sh**e £4 for a pasty that costs £1 in supermarkets. Cheese one was nice if over priced. Total nightmare getting one. Any chance Claire in the ticket office could also be Catering Manager?

Disappointing. Cooked well but very small for £4.

I had a Steak and Ale pasty today and have to say was one of the highlights of my day. Nothing like the Ginster you buy in the shops.
Still have the piglets sausage rolls too which is great.

I too had the Steak and Ale and agree that it was nothing like the shop crap.
Instead of tasteless thick cardboard for pastry it was soft and edible. The filling, unlike the vast empty spaces you associate with the shop rubbish was succulent, tasty and just the right temperature.
I suppose they're made by the same people, but in a blind taste comparison I would bet no-one would say they were the same brand.
Smaller than the shop sold Shyte, but worth every penny.
I shall be indulging again.

Ginsters don't do a premium range of pasties though.... So I'm confused as to why there are suggestions to why the ones at the ground today are better than shop bought ones?

Was definitely better that what you would find in the shops, which is the pasty I was expecting. Pleasantly surprised today. Sad that the free pasty was the best thing about about the first home game of the season.

I had a Ginsters Pasty today. It was very very tasty, miles better than the ones last season. Only problem was they had run out 10 minutes before kickoff and I had to wait 15 minutes for restocking so missed the kickoff. But well worth the wait. So what happened to the new heaters?

I did suggest maybe they wouldn’t just be heating up the supermarket version..
Everyone so quick to write these things off before they’re even tried.
Funny how tbone appears to be the only negative reviewer. But we all know he doesn’t go to games

Apparently, the new catering manager deals with hospitality and the players food (home and away teams)?
He has employed a bloke call Sav to be in charge of the pasty huts. Seems Sav based the number of pasties required on the recent friendlies!
I went to two pasty huts and at both people were on phones saying "Sav you haven't ordered enough we need some more pies and pasties!"
Eventually got a pasty and have got to say it was better than any I had last season. That said I did originally order the piglet pie but these were out of stock.
No doubt Sav will order 5000 pasties for Tuesday when only 3000 fans turn up!

Only heard positive reviews from people who tried the Ginsters pasties.
Did any of the naysayers try one then?

Ginsters don't do a premium range of pasties though.... So I'm confused as to why there are suggestions to why the ones at the ground today are better than shop bought ones? Smaller, a totally different pastry and the filling was moist and tasty. Dont forget, the shop ones are manufactured and cooked on site, npackaged then moved to distribution centres around the country. They are probably in store several days before reaching the shop chillers, then put on specials as they reach the see-by date. Id like to think the football pasties are provided in more of a J I T basis and are therefore much fresher.

Was in the West Enclosure and at half time we went to the Pasty hut in the SW corner. Queue. Only a handful of sausage rolls left, no pasties or pies! Drove back home to Sussex having missed part of the match day experience. 1. Put a sign up when run out or shout it out. 2. Sort it out. PS: Award winning Turners pies, just round the corner from us are the best www.turnerspies.co.uk/awards/

Why is there only one non-meat option? I don't want a cheese and onion pasty, I want a vegetable pasty. It's 2019, guys. Are 2 veggie options too much to ask? I'm hardly asking for Forest Green Rovers catering here. Announce vegetable pasty now!
