No we dont.We are a 3rd tier side that has had the odd time in the 2nd/championship level. We only dropped into the bottom level for the first time in 2001/02. The last time we played in tier two was 26 years ago. Sadly we are now a struggling third tier side. It is what it is. I think we need to give Coughlan more time and calling for his head now is really not very helpful. Let's see where we are (and more importantly how we are playing) at the end of September. Fingers crossed. In the interests of accuracy, that's 9600 days, or 315 months and 12 days, or 26 years 3 months and 12 days since beating Millwall away 3-0. However you want to display it.

A firefighter can do a cracking job putting out a fire at your house, you wouldn't get them to rebuild it though, you get in a builder.

A new Manager will have exactly the same squad to pick from as GC does now, so what's the point? A better coach can get more out of the same squad of players.

Does anyone else feel totally disconected with our club and totally let down? Ive never felt this way before even at some of the sh** times we've had in the last 20 years.
After years of shocking Management we fell out of the football league in May 2014.I thought that was rock bottom. But with DC in charge we made history getting back to where we are now.
The new owners came in and gave me hope. Not that we were going to be the next Man City, but that we will be finally run in a way where we could at least reach our potential and get to the championship with the foundations laid in place to maybe push for the premiership one day, abit like City can now.
DC lost the plot,or heart come the end as he was let down and could not see us moving forward. The UWE went tits up,we lost the snake,a butchers truck is now our new stand, half a year to put up a simple big screen.Debts rising...etc.
Signing avg journeyman like Upson,Bennett,Rodman - The continuation of playing our worse ever striker.. (not player) striker given his goal against games ratio.I mean WTF..
Having maybe the best two full back in L1 but both are crocks and injury prone and we will be lucky to get 20 games this season between the two.
Im not calling for Cogs to go as that is insane after 3 games. But just give us a style of play where we attack.Last year was ugly but we stayed up.But this brand of football is going back to the days of Graydon,Atkins,Mcgeeeeee, and snooze feast Ward!!!
And Cog please stop with the same they're an honest bunch crap during each interview. They should be, they are getting paid well to do there dream jobs!

Yeah, I feel totally disconnected too. I nearly didn't bother with a ST and in all honesty I already regret bothering with. Been yet? You know I haven't. And I'm missing the next 2 home games too. I saw enough last season and reading on here, even the most upbeat fan has said it's as bad if not worse than the sh** we had all last year.

I saw enough last season and reading on here, even the most upbeat fan has said it's as bad if not worse than the sh** we had all last year. That in itself is depressing to read. i was hoping maybe at the Wycombe game i had a bad seat and the view of the pitch gave me a inaccurate perception of the game. Or maybe the pre match beers clouded my judgement?

I'm not saying we should get rid just yet, we should as least give him a chance to pick up. However a new manager can change a lot of things without the necessity of a wealth of funds. Attitude (DC), tactics, playing tactics to match and/or stifle the opposition, preparation, training, attention to the differing psychological needs of players (some need persuasion, others need cajoling, some need bollocking), the right man as captain, etc etc. A new manager can change many things and still not have to spend a fortune. There is a lot more to football than just spending a fortune on a massive squad (unless you are Man City!). Do you not think changing Manager after 3 League games will ruin the squad moral? Change of Manager doesn't always work, unless they're given a multi million pound budget to change everything? We'll be scrapping all season, again, with what we've got. Here's to 3 points Tuesday night. It depends, if the players aren't keen on the manager and he is regarded as a bully (as some have suggested, not saying it's true mind) then a new manager might come as a relief. The players that DC brought in initially were devoted to him as he was a breath of fresh air and engendered loyalty. Some managers don't.

Totally agree; l go to matches currently based out of habit, what with the awful football and the atrocious manner in which the owners operate, coupled with the laborious saga over the non existent new ground project, the whole match day experience has become a utter slog, unsurprisingly home gates have gone down by over 2000 over the past two seasons.

And Cog please stop with the same they're an honest bunch crap during each interview. They should be, they are getting paid well to do there dream jobs! Are they doing their dream job? The fans might think it is a dream job, and yes I would loved to have played for the Gas, but many are competent players who are just good at football and that is their day job. They might dream about doing something else. The reason motivation is important in sport is that for many it is just a job. Very few players these days play for their local club and often support other clubs. Playing for Bristol Rovers probably never figured in their dreams as a kid. We need to get away from this idea that they are devoted to the club. It is a job. How many people do you know who work for a company, it's just a job and they need motivating to get the best out of them. Most people I know have become cynical about company loyalty (probably because of age and experience) and job for life. It is the same for many footballers. That's where the like of Stuart Sinclair have a value that goes beyond talent, they love their job and see it as a dream and lift themselves above their talent level. Most football players don't.

What makes football so different is that you get to read about how you performed almost immediately afterwards. And judging by this thread I wouldn’t want to be a player. Amateur pundits who think they know it all.
