Nice ball from the captain and good finish from Smith for the second goal and good touch and unselfish play from Smithy for the 3rd. Good stuff.

Obviously great that he got two goals but the most promising thing from Smith was his work for JCH’s goal. Great control to bring the ball down with his left foot and then a good pass with his right.

Agree brilliant play from Smith for the 2nd and 3rd goals. If he can keep this up he'll be a great signing for us.

Liked the goals especially the third, very unselfish and killed the game, very refreshing especially as he was on a hatrick.

Certainly looks like there is a partnership developing nicely there...

Certainly looks like there is a partnership developing nicely there... Said the other day, if we can get to a position where Nichols is 4th choice then I will be very, very happy. I think our strikeforce looks encouraging.

team selection making it more capable of attacking. Oggogo over Upson and Clarke + Sercs and a winger. TN out of the spotlight for a period, make do with JCH and the two loaned lads, we can easily be a mid table side and something to build on. This formation against Wycombe would have brought us 3 points at home, im sure.

If we're going to play with a No 10 at the top of the diamond regularly this season then why not use Nichols in that role, which he seems more readily suited to than as a striker?

It's an interesting option to put TN in the No10 role (got to be better than Boris surely)?

Bennett looked good.
Nice one two with Jonno. And his quick dipping shot caused the spill that led to the first goal.
In my view he should be starting as either the tip of diamond or on the left most weeks.
At the same time we competition there too.

Not sure if it's where you've picked it from but said on here I'd like to see Nichols in a number 10 role.

Brilliant to see such a dominant display with 3 goals scored BUT that has to be tempered by the fact we were playing a L2 team.
I hope that GC feels brave enough to play a more attacking formation when up against a decent L1 outfit.
There's quite a difference I'm afraid.

Agreed that it would be nice to put that same mentality, formation etc into our League games. We'll see Saturday.

Michael Duff said it was a diamond so same as against Wycombe, albeit with better results?

But from highlights and comments it sounded as though the line up and formation worked. For a change. Maybe, it's time to drop Nichols and put Smith up front with JCH?

So something like: _________Ogogo ____Clarke_____Sercombe _________Bennett _______JCH____Smith
