Looking at what or what's not going on now, I wonder who you think was our best ever Chairmen? For me Denis & Geoff without a doubt. From the ashes of Eastville and tenants of Twerton to the achievements of promotion to what's now the Championship and owing our own stadium was amazing. I only hope it's not being asset stripped or has it been already?

What do you want, a top 5?
We’ve been badly run for years but by bringing us back to Bristol, supporting Holloway and acquiring the mem, Dennis and Geoff do deserve credit for providing a short break from that.

The gentlemen in 1883. Without them none of the others would even have existed/been needed.

Any board that preserves our Division 1 status gets a pat on the back for me. I have been watching us now for 36 seasons and I’ve seen us in the Championship for 2 of those seasons. But I see us a genuine Div1 club and we’ve spent most of our history in this league. The current board have preserved our Div1 status and I have no doubt we will start next season as a Div1 club again.
Dennis and Geoff, Gasheads who helped save the club. Geoff made a fatal error giving Garry Thompson the job, we should have never lost our Div1 status that season and that’s then where the next 2 decades problems arised as a yo yo club.
I can’t listen to all the politics on here, if we retain our Div1 status, get a new ground then I will look back on the Al Qadi legacy and say........retained Div 1 status, helped get us a new ground which no other owner has been able to do for over 100 years. Granted Geoff Dunford got us the Mem 👏🏻
I don’t want to hear anyone has been lucky, it was Hamer and Ken, truth is Hamer only got back into football because of this board.
Until we get a new stadium to fight Bristol City then I don’t think we’ve ever had a real successful board, as fans we’ve always been let down.

Certainly not the board who all resigned and left us in the sh** at Eastville. My favourite is the next board who will take us to the promised land of a new stadium.

Ah yes, Bristol Rovers!’. If they thought they could do that then they are either mad or stupid. In fact, if they did pull that off I’d have to take my hat off to them as that would be quite some feat! Take your point though that we could lose the Mem if sold but Al-Quadis would probably still be out of pocket.

Dennis was the man who saved us and navigated us to the championship, he ultimately was our best chairman/owner. Geoff got us the Mem true, but also installed a series of poor managers in Thompson and Graydon, took us into L2, only avoided relegation to the conference by the skin of our teeth twice and also put us up for sale. Ron Craig should also get a lot of credit for supporting us all those years and being the Chairman that took us back to L1.

Slightly off with your facts there.Geoff took the club off the hands of flook, bradshaw and palmer when they were going to liquidate it due to losing money. At first he was on his own then got a few directors to join him and eventually persuaded denis to become chairman against his wishes, denis was in fact a rugby man.So ,in effect,if Geoff hadn't met flook on that fateful day and accepted the responsibility of saving the club this argument wouldn't have happened

Geoff player a significant role in saving the club which often gets underplayed.

Despite what some say about gd he only wanted what was best for rovers and some of the derogatory comments made about him in the last decade or so are from bitter people who backed the wrong horse
