Lip service is being given to the development squad now it's budget has been cut. Not saying your wrong but where's the proof? As Daniel suggested today's team looks a strong one, although AAJ's saved a pen already!

Does anyone know whether we still have Ben Morgan, Josh Bailey or Kavanagh?

Surely this wasnt the team that lost 7 0 to Torquay? Was this a friendly? As Torquay aren't in the Central League South section:

It was something that was said to me during pre-season by someone on the staff at the club, although it doesn't take a genius to see that anyway. How many players from outside the club have we added to the group in the past year? One player isn't it? The line-up looked strong today because of about 5 potential first team squad members that were involved.

It was GC's decision to use our youth player's for the development side and to put the money into the first team squad. As player's over 20 at the start of the season, still count towards scmp rules. So he didn't want to take on anyone 20 or over to give them another opportunity. Wael said it will never be scrapped as some suggested, but that the first team manager will always have the final say on what will happen with the playing budget. It might change again next season, now that Garner is in charge. How many player's could we sign with Bennett's wage?? Shame he's still under contract next season. That striker Bolton just signed, who scored all the goals in non league. Signed an 18 month deal, for £800 a week. Could sign 5 similar player's for the development squad/first team, with those wages.

Heard that some in the Development squad are on very little money. I imagine that Garner will probably address that situation given his remit.

Two triallists on the bench today - anyone know who they are? 1 lad from Reading, 1 from Exeter. The lad from Exeter has been training with the 23s for a little while.

"Widdrington then stepped up for the spot-kick and attempted to neatly dink the 'keeper, but Thomas in the Forest Green net was unphased and caught the chip" If I were a manager and one of my players did that I would give them a bollocking whether it went in or not
