I don’t think the complacency is with GC .... I think it’s owners very close to selling a club and saying “ No More spend from us”
Hopefully a deal gets done and January window has a slightly looser belt.

I would say it smacks of the reality of life for a team that has no spare cash. Coughlan has made it pretty clear hes been shocked at wage demands this window.
So sponsor a sausage roll if you can afford it.

Precisely, if you actually read the article he says he wants to bring people in but it’s unlikely.
It might not even necessarily be lack of ambition but if the players we want outside are outside of our budget then that’s prudence not lack of ambition
Would you rather we were doing a Bolton or a Bury? You’d think it would tamper supporters expectations a little the environment in the football league.
Just because we’re not making signings, doesn’t mean we’re lacking in budget or ambition.
How are Scunthorpe doing now? They were making signings left right and centre this time last year we’re they not?

So we MAY not be getting anyone else in and there MAY be a player or two going out. Eight players already brought in. Welcome to a normal day in the life of a lower league club. Not sure what the issue is here....nothing has changed from what we all suspected I would say.

Mid-table - no need to spend more.
Why put the club further in to debt?
We can't compete financially with the big boys in L1 so wants the point in going beyond our limits?

I think we should just focus on the non league from now on. Hungry players like Hare with talent but for some reason overlooked.

I don't think you can accuse GC of complacency, in the article it says that he knows there are areas of the squad that could do with strengthening, it isn't a case of him being naive after a couple of wins.
It's just the consequences of us tightening our belts after a few years of haemorrhaging a lot of money, not a lot Coughlan can really do unfortunately.

Given 5-3-2 seems to be the way forward with this group of players I'd prioritise a CB and CM if there was any chance of bringing in a player or 2 on loan.
Doesn't sound likely though. Hopefully if any players are going out they at least can be replaced because we have a small enough squad already.

After my rather harsh comments about GC , I would like to place on record that I may of been wrong. His comments are making it abundantly clear that he has no more money in the pot due to the owners not willing to spend. Not , that I’m even going to knock the owners for not spending the extra cash. It looks like we are going to try and just maintain our league 1 status from here on out , and to be honest , for the time being anyway , that’s going to have to be good enough. There are clearly players here that GC has been trying to push out which would enable us to bring some in and by the looks of it , it hasn’t happened. The harsh reality of where we are as a club and where we have historically been , is where we are presently. From now on I’m just going to embrace the fact that I have my little local football club to support and from looking at what’s currently happening with Bolton and bury , I’m ok with that. One day we will have our time , not just yet. UTG !!!!

Just hope more Gasheads get down The Mem than have been going up to now and then can judge Jaakkola, Davies, Hare etc with their own eyes. They might be pleasantly surprised !

Surely after reading of th exploits of Bury/Bolton even a total dip sh!t realises clubs cannot keep fucckin spending beyond their means.
Clubs including ours should face facts an reality and compete within their means. All th article says to me is GC would like to strengthen - well no sh!t sherlock, every single team in th whole of football wants ta strengthen!
Support what you have an stop dreamin of pots of fucckin gold.

Yes we're mid table but it's only 5 games in! I'm sure the reaction would be very different on here, had we lost our last 2 games.
