Running his contract down.........TL gave his all for this club, his partnership with Craig last season was vital to remaining in league 1, I am not aware that he missed any games through injury, always gave 100% despite being in a position that with only months remaining on his contract a bad injury could have destroyed him both career wise and financially. Therefore he deserves total admiration for his approach. In contrast Taylor is an utter t*sser who has basically spent the last 3 years taking the p*ss out of Rovers with various social media offerings etc...no double standards, one is a legend the other a complete c*ck! Agree with all you said about what Tom L did for us. He was great for us and we were great for him. Everything you said about Tom L is true. But he did run his contract down, dress it up as much as you want but that’s what he did. He made a decision about 18 months ago to do what he did, fair play to him you might say. And yes MT is probably what you say he is. My point was I find it bizarre that we got £300k for MT yet TL goes for nothing (b***** all) and MT gets death threats! That is pretty factual. Sorry if you don’t either like it or agree with it but I think it’s pretty accurate. And I’m as p***** off as anyone he signed for the other lot. And beating them 3-1 and taking the three points was the best part of the afternoon! UTG! Not sure why you find it bizarre? football is unlike any ordinary business, the rivalries and passion is what makes it so fantastici......the £300k figure is irelevant even more so when you account for TL playing for 8 years and twice as many games as Taylor. In my eyes running a contract down implies feigning injury, missing games, half hearted effort etc, none of which applies to TL

Fair enough, tinner. In my eyes running a contract down is none of those things, it’s refusing to sign a new contract over a period of time so that your existing one ends just after you turn 24 thereby being allowed to go for free. The thing she you mentioned are all about giving 100% commitment, something that Tom L gave every match, it’s never been questioned. I loved the guy and what he did for us but let’s not rewrite what happened. I guess we will just have to agree to differ. You are right about football being unlike any other business and being so full of passion but I suppose if you can’t see why I see the difference between the two situations so bizarre then you wouldn’t be able to no matter how long I tried to explain why. As I said we’ll just have to disagree. UTG!

Good to see he is getting good reviews at Charlton, who are still unbeaten in the league.
Yes its a shame we did not get a fee but are we not used to loosing our players on the cheap?! Maybe we could have cashed in one season earlier but that most likely would have ended with us getting relegated.
Good to see Alfie doing so well, but lets not get too carried away because if he keeps this up he will be off to the championship for 150k next summer!
