Groans, not this again, but with players coming back from injury with experience*it would be a good chance to offer game time to some of the development side. JVS Little Meyanese Kilgour Kelly Rodman Russe Sercs Bennett Nichols Moore Sub's Andre Jnr Ben Morgan Hargreaves Widdrington Mensah (if he is coming back next season) Tomlinson Kavanagh * not sure of the rules re played last game/have over x no of games experience. I would not play the loans, as I would rather see our players developed in the competition I was going to say that Russe wouldn't be available as he is out on loan at Gloucester, but I noticed from the EFL website:
"Meanwhile, a number of minor rule changes were confirmed for 2018/19 with EFL clubs now being given the opportunity to name players who are out on-loan at National League clubs, whilst invited teams will only be able to name two players who are over the age of 21 and have made more than 40 First Team appearances."
The rules on under-strength teams are a bit more reasonable than in previous seasons. As I understand it:
Teams must include four players in their starting line-up which meet at least one section of the following criteria for 'qualifying players'. 1. Started last league game 2. Starts the next league game 3. Is in the list of 10 outfield players to have started the most games in first-team fixtures this season 4. Has made 40 or more first-team appearances during their career 5. Is on loan from a Premier League club
Clubs not fulfilling the criteria will face a £5,000 fine.
I presume the criteria for number four, given this is an EFL competition, means first-team appearances in the EFL and above? Otherwise, surely the likes of Mensah, Mayo and Russe (?) would qualify as part of the mandatory four and the other seven spots could be development squad players.

More than happy to support my team on Tuesday, unlike some part timers on here supporting a part time team soon. Haapy days.
