Listened to it this morning on my daily dog walk!
Very good as usual and some interesting discussions,
Peak Trollope team for me nips it, I think mainly down to the Lambert factor!

First three years of DC's reign were surreal, constantly going one better than the last and in a higher division each time. However, the Lambert era is my favourite as a Rovers fan. Not to discredit or shoot down any of our past or current players but I think it's safe to say Lambert is the one true 'top quality' player we've had in my time supporting the Gas (since 2003ish) and him going on to score goals in the PL and play for England proves that. A true legend. Oh, and great pod as always

The Trollope days were very special, having floated around the bottom half of Division 3/League 2 for so long, storming League one and then the FA Cup run like we did with Walker & Lamberts goals was something to behold.
But, the resurgence under DC pips it for me. The club was at its lowest ebb, on its knees and many thought we wouldn’t ever return especially after the start of 1 point from the first 9. To go from the defeats at Altrincham & Braintree playing like 11 strangers dragged off the streets of Filton Avenue, to finishing 10th in League one in under 3 years was unbelievable and one hell of a rollercoaster ride. Not to mention securing yet another top half finish thereafter.
It’s close but 2014-2018 wins it for me.

two very different remits, DC all about rescue from the abyss to rise again, Paul Trollope's gave us unexpected magical days ,we were languishing in mid table, lost at home to ,I think Wrexham, and we thought season over, then we go on this amazing run, sneak into play offs resulting in that Sammy moment at Wembley, (still get goose bumps watching it now!)and Cardiff as well, so I think with DC it was relief, with PT excitement, the other thing to mention is that with PT it was very much a partnership with Lenny who I believe was a great influence for good on him and PT suffered on his departure, with DC it was different and Marcus was very much the junior in the relationship, up the Rovers!

Peak Trollope or DC, what a great debate that is!
Its hard, but as I wasn't in the country for the peak DC moments (apart from flying back for play off final and the odd game when I was back) means that peak Trollope era pips it for me, just.
The year of the FA cup run whilst sitting comfortably in league one, the Fulham & Southampton cup games, getting to the FA Cip quarter final. Then the away days against the bigger clubs, the Southampton game (one of my all time favourite away games), loosing narrowly to Leicester away, going to Leeds, Norwich, Sheffield Wednesday etc. The promotion season was also something special. Beating City, the JPT final. Hartlepool and Lincoln away (two more of my all time favourite away games! Wembley etc.

Steve Phillips Lee Brown Steve Elliott Tom Lockyer Aaron Lescott Stuart Campbell Craig Disley Chris Lines Jeff Hughes Rickie Lambert Billy Bodin
Strong vocal keeper Good strong fullbacks that can go forward and cross Little and large centre half pairing - tom sweeping and Steve going for first ball Decent passing defensive central midfielder also strong in the tackle Disley good all rounder and those late arrivals to support the striker Lines can run at a team and run a game Wide striking options that can both shoot and cross - providing plenty of goals and assists and both with the ability to run in behind when needed Lambert!!!

Great pod as always. You guys do really crack me up, got to have a good sense of humour being Gasheads!
On the topic I've got to say peak DC shades it for me although both were excellent with great players on show and it was a really interesting discussion. I was shocked to hear the stats about Duffy in that season you mentioned, I didn't think he got anywhere that number of goals but for him to get 13 on top of Lambert and Kuffour's goals is quite amazing looking back. I can't remember if Andy Williams was still with us at the time as well? He was always a good player but shame for us he lacked confidence majorly in front of goal during his time with us, much like Nichols in the last couple of years. Good times though!
