To all you forum readers who park in Strathmore Road (1st left on Gloucester Road as you come out of Filton Avenue), or use it to get to/from the Mem. I walked down there today and saw several notices on lamposts and notices in front windows about it being closed from 12:00 until 22:30 tomorrow for a street party! It also advised residents to move their cars out onto neighbouring streets, so I guess it's going to be a nightmare around there tomorrow? Why B.C.C. allowed them to shut a road so close to the Mem. on a matchday, we'll never know, especially as it's used as a 'cut through' by so many, but that's B.C.C. for you!!

Because it's fun. Walk, bus, train or get an Uber.

Because it's fun. Walk, bus, train or get an Uber. Those options aren't practical for everyone.

No problem with them closing the road. However it would be interesting to know if this was requested before or after the fixtures were released and how many closures they have had during the summer months when there is no football. I would also say a better place for children to run and play is Horfield common where there is plenty of green space provided for just this reason. Perhaps a little bit of live and let live can apply on both sides, but you can't help but feel a football Saturday might not be the best time to do this and may have been chosen to make a point.

It was approved on 16th April.
