A good solid start to the season. I don't think we have enough to be top six contenders at the moment unless come January we can keep hold of JCH and the owners can find enough to buy the 'creative' midfielder and wide player we are lacking and at least a full back in on loan - assuming Josh Hare will not be back until next season. We would have to try very hard to occupy a bottom three position - almost a bonus year for GC to at least consolidate the club in League 1. The expectation levels are still fairly low I feel wrt to the fan base - a good mid table position would be ok but not enough to pull back the missing 'fans' cough cough. The top six positions could be as open as the bottom six last season.

The heart has been ripped out of this club. Make Craig permanent captain. Matty Taylor is crap and DC clueless.

Thank you for the report Steve. Yesterday was my first live game for 2 years, though I have seen many on iplayer as I was living abroad. Thought we were very good yesterday - for the most part we looked defensively secure and whilst never reaching great heights in attack we have enough threat to worry most defences in this division. I thought Nichols was excellent and the way he created Ogogo's goal was first class - so I would have given him a score of 8 at least. Would probably have made Craig MOM not so much for his goal, but for another very solid defensive display. Thought Upson was superb and unlucky with his 30 yarder. I was surprised that you only gave the crowd a 5 - thought we were pretty good for the whole game! Like some others on here, I am pretty bemused at the criticism GC gets. In my humble opinion he has done an excellent job to date. He's been a bit unlucky with injuries but for the most part we have a pretty solid squad with good cover in most positions. I am a lot more optimistic this year than I was at the same stage last season!

Can't see why he gets any critisism at all. Saved us from the drop, and now we're 8th, playing well, looking like a squad that knows what it's doing. What's the problem? Had a chat with the old man tonight, we were both saying there is no reason to doubt him at all. If you offered us last seasons finish & this season so far, you take it without doubt. Maybe a hangover from DC? Time to move forward & upwards with GC UTG This fella ain't doing too bad is he? As for it's boring non entertaining football, pah. It's good enough for me to enjoy.

I find it hard to believe any adult who watches Rovers sober at the Mem can actually enjoy the experience, only Oxford this season was enjoyable but was probably more down to the Snake factor.

Do you not enjoy us scoring goals? Walking out of the ground (home or away) having taken the win or a solitary point? We’re yet to lose a league match at home. What on earth isn’t enjoyable about that?

Could easily be higher in the table if lady luck had been kinder to us at Burton and home to Gillingham and Accrington. We deserved at least a point at Burton and should have held on for the three points against both Gillingham and Accrington. On the flip side however, you could say we were a little lucky to get all three points at Lincoln last week. You cannot argue with the other away games we lost but even so, we have left a few points out on the pitch so our position could have been even better.

I agree with your Burton comments - very frustrating to lose that after our dominant 2nd half performance, but you are not giving credit to Gills and Accie who were both better than us in the 2nd half. I think those 2 draws were fair scores over the 90 minutes.

Markczgas, No probably not although I did enjoy the wins over Oxford and yesterday. Burton was entertaining and we should have got a point at minimum. Home games for me have mainly been disappointing because of the way we play. question was a bit tongue in cheek Steve. I enjoyed how we played v Giils for 70 minutes, and felt entertained - not easy against Evans' sides.

I find it hard to believe any adult who watches Rovers sober at the Mem can actually enjoy the experience, only Oxford this season was enjoyable but was probably more down to the Snake factor. What do you want to see Topper ? Not leaving the ground frustrated as we've seem content to just hold out for a win by the odd goal and failing, rather than taking the game to the opposition and securing a good win. Perhaps GC is learning the fans frustrations given our second performance on Saturday, after the sending off, is just want we want to see. At the end of the day fans are staying away for some reason not being entertained could well be one of the main reasons.

I’ll let you know what I’m enjoying this year, getting a point or 3 and not looking at the league table to see if it’s got us out the relegation zone hoping that a few other teams have slipped up around us.
We are 8th after 10 games by being organised and structured. Agreed it’s not easy on the eye at times but it’s effective and it will give momentum to the squad and raise everyone’s game knowing we are in with a shout.

I enjoy every match. Mostly it's because I get to sit there feeling smug because I am being continually proved right about Tony Craig and Ed Upson.

To be fair everybody who said Upson was poor for us up until Christmas was bang on. He has been very good since Cogs took over and Craig too hasn’t had so many mistakes in him this season. Having the taller two center backs either side has helped I think. I’m enjoying it , the thing that’s made it a bit drab for me is the atmosphere which has generally been poor but that’s because loads aren’t turning up and very few that do sing or chant. But I’m doing my bit.
