I probably start remembering Rovers games from 96ish. That's a span of 23 years so let's round it- 25. We've had some decent keepers in that time but generally the better ones were loans. It might be early but I think Anssi could be the best permanent keeper weve had.
Sadly, it's not compliment it should be...
But Keep it up Anssi.

Nigel Martyn was by. a million miles the best keeper we’ve had in my time watching the Gas. 1st £1M keeper. Was a pretty good deal for Rovers. Brian Parkin was a fantastic replacement. He would be my favourite.

Never saw Martyn play for us.
And I only remember Parkin playing a few times on his return.
So perhaps the best perm for 20 years?

He would be my favourite. Went on to play quite a few games for England and had a great premier league career too. Parkin was a decent keeper and a fan favourite for sure

Laurie Taylor, Jim Eadie and Dick Shepard my favourites. But credit to Jaakola he’s certainly playing well and has kept us in games and won several points already. Let’s hope he keeps it up. UTG!

Mildenhall, Phillips and Miller all did a job for us in -often - difficult circumstances.

Nigel Martyn was by. a million miles the best keeper we’ve had in my time watching the Gas. Have to agree. Although Parkin was as good a replacement as we could have possibly hoped for, Martyn was exceptional for us and exceptional for everyone else he played for, for that matter. Leeds fans voted him their best ever keeper and he was unbelievable in his latter career at Everton. I know I’m biased but I truly believe he should have finished his career with 100 England caps.

Maybe Miller could be included.

Nigel Martyn was by. a million miles the best keeper we’ve had in my time watching the Gas. I think that getting Brian “ the lion” Parkin as part of that deal, made it the best business we have ever done. Parkins bravery was immense and he was also a bloody good GK. Sadly the days of us having a conveyor belt of fantastic keepers in now long gone

I was a tennant in one of Stuart Taylor’s properties and he used to tell me you would find Jim, in the bar and they’d have to send someone to get him. Jim backed this story up when he cane to one of the reunions. He still has a cracking sense of humour.

A big hero, but a hero none the less.
