Not too much damage to our league standing after yesterday’s results. See Bolton won again and now in positive points Watching Quest they said the decision on whether Bolton get another points deduction for the Doncaster postponement will be taken this coming week. Don’t know if true but if so then I guess at least the table will be more accurate because I would imagine a lot of clubs near the bottom will be wanting to know the “real” position. Not least of all Bolton themselves. By this time next week Bolton could be what they are now positive points or back to a minus position. UTG!

Another point deduction could be one too far but currently you could see them climbing out of the relegation positions through the strengthening and gelling of the new squad

The independent commission sat last Thursday to decide on what punishment if any Bolton should receive. The club were told they would be given the verdict on Friday and that did not happen. Why a further delay one wonders?

Why a further delay one wonders? Thanks bideford, I didn’t know that bit of info. Could be read two ways, waiting to bury bad news for Bolton on a day with good news or knowing what the reaction will be from other league 1 clubs at the bottom if they get away with nothing. Either way it’s been a bit of a mess esp when the EFL had the opportunity to show some leadership. UTG!

Thanks fella. It’s made me feel very emasculated to be honest as I’ve been back, to my own dentist, 3 times and been told that I have to just get on with it because, each time they apply the small wad on painkilling mixture it just makes healing a longer process. I really feel for your boy as I honestly never thought any pain could be more severe than what I already deal with. I am actually going to fast all weekend and hope that this will do the trick. If I was now told I’d have to have an operation on my tongue then I’d be bricking it, I’m on morphine too but this seems to be resistant to it. I can only imagine how painful it must be for your son but we seem to have more ability to get past these things as kids. I just hope it doesn’t leave any longterm fears for him but it sounds very much like he is doing well and has good support, with you being there. No one truly understands how important it is to have people visit unless they have to have to stay in hospital for longer than a couple of days. Wishing your son a quick and happy result mate. He’s going to have lots of speech and language therapy. He also has to learn to eat because until now he could only have purée food otherwise he would choke because he could chew and roll solid food into a ball and swallow like any normal person could. The only downside to the op is that he will have no control of the tip of his tongue, so good for donut eating contests where you can’t lick your lips but not so good for making vital language sounds. I’m so sorry and there’s me feeling bad because I have tongue pain from dental work. I really hope things improve. Wishing him and you all the very best

We are back home now, got home last night, he's doing well but struggling to swallow fluids so getting him to drink is a nightmare!! 2 hours sleep last night too as he wouldn't settle so Im far from firing all cylinders!

I’ve spent more time in hospitals, in the last 5-6 years than anywhere else. It can be very draining and worrying. I really hope you get a good outcome and are able to switch off. Mine is ongoing but I try to be positive , even waiting for test results can make you ill. please keep us posted. If ever you need a lift or anything like that please don’t hesitate to ask

And it was supposed to start again last week! Not sure how they ever thought it was going to work though. I think the government are trying to show a sense of normality yet there are daily clashes between protesters and police on a pretty significant scale. Santiago has been absolutely trashed in parts, as were many other towns we went to throughout Chile. We go on about the political elite in the UK but in Chile nearly everything from banks, pensions, healthcare, utilities, infrastructure etc is privatised and owned by just a few mega rich families. The minimum wage there is about £300 a month yet to go out for a meal, do your weekly shop, fill up the car etc costs close to what it costs us at home. Whilst it was a fairly meagre rise in the Santiago Metro fare that kicked off the protests it's been brewing for years and the country was clearly ready to explode and just needed igniting. It's a shame that it's not getting more coverage at home as it shows what can happen if you allow everything to be privatised. Its worth doing some proper reading on the subject rather than just reading the nothing articles the BBC write about it as we could learn a few things in the UK.
