Amazing how quickly entire squads turnover, after yesterday I found myself reflecting on Stu Taylor’s era, him, Lindsay Parsons, Frankie Prince, Harold Jarman etc all managing more than 300 appearances for our club. There always seemed to be continuity season on season with just a few in and out at seasons end. Things are so different now.. it was only 3 1/2 years since the Dagenham game. It was our last L2 game in May 2016, yet the starting 11 and the three used subs have all left the club or retired into coaching. Indeed only one unused sub Ollie Clarke is still here. Ollie is also the only survivor from our non league days which finished at Wembley a year earlier and again for the promotion clincher he was an unused sub. Two successive promotion clinching matches where none of our current squad kicked a ball - amazing turnover. As an aside, maybe if we are one match away from promotion again we should stick OC on the bench and make sure he does not get on.

Who'd have thought 4 1/2 years ago while Rovers or Wycombe were guaranteed to be relegated to NL that we'd both be pushing for promotion to the Championship in 19/20 season
It's been pretty amazing, on reflection

I haven't researched the team that played in the Dagenham match. But I reflect on the opposition we now face. Then we were competing against teams with the power of Dagenham. Now we are contemplating a play off battle against Ipswich. I'd say that's pretty good progress! Evolution not revolution ....

When announced that Stuart played 207 consecutive games, I noticed Mark Little’s knees shaking, he was looking around him & there were looks of disbelief on some faces. Just before ko I think Craig shouted around ‘don’t fret lads, I think he meant 27’. But I think they were all suffering from shock & didn’t get going until the second half.

Looking for excuses to explain the shocking first half performance yesterday, maybe the players were just so in awe of what Stuart Taylor the legend meant to the club. It must've been playing on their minds.
On the main point of this thread, wasn't Alexis Andre Jnr here then?

He signed in the summer, one of the first signings for the development squad we don't hear much about these days (at least appears to be more under 18s than 23s these days)

He was the first keeper recruited to the development squad, which we did not have until we were a League 1 club. Kilgour would have been in one of the Academy or youth sides at the time we beat Dagenham and maybe some of the other young uns will have been somewhere in the system...but the main point of the thread is none of the 15 that saw duty against Dagenham or the 15 that played at Wembley versus Grimsby are here....and only one player who made a non league appearance for Rovers is on the books.

The team that played Dagenham..
Steve Mildenhall Lee Brown Daniel Leadbitter Tom Lockyer Mark McChrystal Chris Lines Lee Mansell Billy Bodin Rory Gaffney Cristian Montaño Matty Taylor
Subs: Gosling, Harrison, Easter
Some obviously retired, but lets not forget only Lockyer and Bodin are currently playing in a team higher than us in the league.
