Bit rich GC calling for support then watering off to bloody Mansfield of all places... The AQ’s have no money and that is an issue, don’t get me wrong. But for them to give this guy a shot and he breaks his contract to go to Mansfield with us in 4th?! Off you f**k GC and take your prehistoric football with you. I was right not to warm to him. Had a bad week?

Just let him go I cba now, didn't take to him before definitely don't now. No point having someone here who has made it clear he doesn't want to be here. Finally looks like he may get the support he has warranted n he does this.

If he does indeed leave us to join Mansfield I suspect it’s for a mixture of reasons. Family issues will obviously be a strong factor but in football it’s an occupational hazard which he will have been accustomed to over the past 25 years. If he is ambitious, and I have not doubt he is, then he isn’t going to limit the remainder of his managerial career to a 45 minute radius of Sheffield. Would he even be thinking of leaving, regardless of any domestic pressures, if he knew he was going to get financial backing in the January window and that a new stadium/training ground was on the horizon. Feeling more disillusioned with Rovers than ever at the moment. It's a huge gamble on his part, and for that alone I think it points to the family factor being central. Get it wrong at Mansfield and his managerial career could be over.

If this is a career move , then I think he has made a very big mistake, if we did manage somehow to get us up, we would have had a load more better clubs than Mansfield to choose from, Ollie dust your boots off

DC turned down Leeds and GC fecks off at the first opportunity to a club 37 places below us. Up the DC. Come home x Do people actually believe that DC turned them down? Personally I think he would have lasted a month there before being sacked Leeds had agreed a compo package. Went for Karl Robinson as first choice but he turned them down too.

Really, he is a football manager... Surely his family support him if he was earning enough, and he should be paid more having us 4th in the table. Cant understand why you would leave for a struggling league 2 club, that could go down and really ruin his managerial career...unless he is going to be earning more than he is here. ....IF GC is even going to them. It’s alright saying surely his family support him because he’s on what ? Probably a hundred grand a year possibly more, but he’s got a wife with kids and they see him for probably a few hours a week ? My mrs would rather I took a wage cut and spend time with my family than earn more and never see them and to be honest if I was in that situation I probably would to. I’m a builder and have been offered very good money working away over the years but I want to be around my daughter, take her to school be around for them to enjoy my family. All my work is local and I’m earning maybe half of what I could be working all around the country but what’s the point in having a family if your never with them or there for them. That’s why I’m not in the get stuffed Cogs team. For what it’s worth nobody seems to know what’s going on anyway , but if it is to be with his family then Graham Coughlan I salute you , your a top bloke and you’ve been brilliant for us and I wish you well. UTG

I don't think it would be fair to be critical of coughlan if he goes to mansfield. They have ambitious owners who will back him to move the club on.

Not sure he's made it clear he doesn't want to be here perhaps it's all part of his plan to get backing in January, who konws. regardless we now need to hold out for decent compensation for once we hold all the aces Mansfield will have to pay up to get him

UTG Yeah but if you’re doing a successful job and respect the fact that the only reason you became a successful builder is because your boss gave you a shot , couldn’t you put your family issues aside for 4 months while you finished a project that could make your name in your industry?

Lol Reading between the lines, Mansfield must be pretty confident in securing Coughlan if they’ve just gone and sacked their manager. I really don’t see how he can give that interview, tell his players he is leaving and continue to be Bristol Rovers manager tbh.
