Coughlan hasn’t handled this very well but he seemed very emotional about it all when he blurted everything out on Saturday about taking the club as far as he can. The AL-QADI apologists are out in force to condemn him now though as if there’s no way their beloved messiah has anything to do with the decision. It must be 1984.. The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. He apologised according to Starnes so he knows he has acted shoddily. As I’ve said before there is a lot to be angry at our current owners about but the fact our manager can’t honour a contract is not their fault. Coughlan can take his crocodile tears after the game and do one because it’s quite clear that he was trying to make his position untenable by saying what he said so he could get his way.

He could have moved his family to Bristol if he missed em that moment much That’s a poor excuse but the ambition of the chairman cannot be questioned We suspect we did not offer any sort of package or relocation for his family, we are tin pot rovers after all. Says a lot about current affairs off the pitch this move by coughlan, dont blame him one bit. He has moved to a club with a hands on chairman who will support him financially

The owners and starnes must be relieved that fans are blaming coughlan for this mess. I reckon if yet another manager starts complaining about the lack of ambition people will take notice. Probably not though.

Yes there is the stuff about family, but overwhelming statement regarding ambition etc etc

I just wonder what sort of atmosphere we will see and hear at the Mem on Saturday. There is bound to be a lot of anger towards both Graham Coughlan and the so called board that apparently does its business on our behalf. There no doubt we need a new focus on which direction we are going. After Saturdays result, in my opinion everything seems flat. I think the Jordanian family need to depart. We need fresh faces who are prepared to give us what we want - success bout on and off the pitch.
Starting tonight, I just hope that the players chosen to play give their 110% and continue getting good results, otherwise we could end up dropping down the table at a alarming rate.

What I find difficult to understand is when our owners offered the job to GC why did they not say you have to move to Bristol, if he did not want to then you don’t get the job , it’s like offering an area sales manager to cover London central when he lives in Bristol, it’s not going to happen , only at Bristol Rovers

Probably not though. Thing is, when he took over he was telling us how great it all was at Rovers. I respected DC much more as at least he said the supporters deserved better and the club was years behind with its facilities.

What's the betting in a year or so he's not off to another club miles for his home. I doubt if DC or MS have moved to the West Mids to live?

He was grateful to get his first opportunity here to get his foot in the door. Wins a few games, good win percentage, starts to believe in his own brilliance. Suddenly, Mansfield come calling and he’s homesick and he wants to go up north. It’s opportunism- if any hadn’t done so well in the job he would still be here now and his family wouldn’t be an issue. We are a victim of his success that has given him the opportunity to trade us in for a (in his head) better job. Can’t blame the board for being surprised about this given his previous extensive work in the south.

It’ll be Robbie Savage-esque stuff when he screws over Mansfield to take over at Gillingham, or Plymouth if they get promoted and ditch matey.

Quite factual from where I’m sitting- they have gone through 2 managers in 6 months already. They won’t muck about if things get worse.
