He has the cheek to say he demands 'honesty ' from his players - Double standards Coughlan you showed us none at all. Good riddance to Bad Rubbish !! You will soon find out that your family wont want you home when you are in one of your moods !! Plenty of other swipes or maybe just honesty that confirms we are way behind even the sh**e teams and going further backwards by the month. Hope it all implodes on them ….they have some very decent players though so we shall see. "Honesty" and "loyalty" coming from GC? Does he really not see the hypocritical nature of such comments?

Sorry you comment is extremely uneducated and does not deserve a reply. Quite factual from where I’m sitting- they have gone through 2 managers in 6 months already. They won’t muck about if things get worse. The trouble is that he was pretty good at turning around our sinking ship but then again the Stag’s players might all be snowflakes.

The owners and starnes must be relieved that fans are blaming coughlan for this mess. I reckon if yet another manager starts complaining about the lack of ambition people will take notice. Probably not though. I’m blaming Coughlan for this because the way he’s handled it has been shocking. That doesn’t mean that I don’t think our owners have a lack of ambition. But that certainly hasn’t been the main purpose for his move. The Mansfield chairman might have some ambition, but I’m not even sure Coughlan believes he’s gonna take them to the top 4 of League One halfway through a season at any point in his tenure there. You really telling me he thinks he’s got more chance of promotion to the Championship there than the one he had here this season?

I yet to read of a manager, at his appointment press conference, say "it's a shithole with w**ker fans and a crap board". hth. You can see it in the eyes of some of our new signings as they glumly hold the blue and white scarf aloft, though.

Probably not though. Thing is, when he took over he was telling us how great it all was at Rovers. I respected DC much more as at least he said the supporters deserved better and the club was years behind with its facilities. Exactly and no one else had given him the chance to be a manager so he should remember that and be grateful to our board and club for that. He's a long way from his beloved Plymouth now isn't he!!

The main attraction was the ambition of the chairman. That grinds!! We’ve decided to counter this by approaching managers who match our ambitions....unfortunately no manager of a toolstation under 11s side could be tempted to give up their current role.

Weird that people think criticizing GC for how he's handled all of this = backing the board and the Al-Qadis.
The PRECISE REASON we've been so hopeless is because we only have ourselves to look to when sh*t goes down. Not the manager, not the board, not the flashy politician.

Graham Coughlan unveiled as new Mansfield Town manager
www.chad.co.uk/sport/football/graham-coughlan-unveiled-as-new-mansfield-town-manager-1-10158544
Dubliner Graham Coughlan has finally, as expected, been unveiled as the new Mansfield Town new manager this afternoon. The 45-year-old had officially left League One Bristol Rovers in a healthy fourth place earlier in the day with the media at both ends expecting him to join the struggling Stags, who sacked John Dempster last weekend.
Succeeding ex-Stag Darrell Clarke in 2018 he had lifted Rovers from the relegation zone to a promotion chase, with a win rate of 45 per cent - losing just 13 of his 56 matches in charge.
Coughlan is delighted to get a job at an ambitious club within reach of his wife and family in Sheffield and smiled: “This is a massive opportunity and a massive chance for me. The main attraction was the ambition of the chairman.
“The opportunity to manage a club like Mansfield Town, with the ambition at this football club, the facilities, and of course to be able to be at home with my wife and kids, was an absolute mammoth attraction. “I’ve been living in this part of the country for the best part of 20 years and it’s an honest, hard-working area – that’s what I am and that’s the background I’ve come from. “That’s all we drummed into the players at Bristol Rovers. If you’re not honest and you’re not hard-working, you won’t have any place at this football club. “We will be honest, we will be hard-working and we will wear that jersey with pride. That’s all I ask of the players.
“We have a tremendous group of players here that are just not functioning. We need to ask questions and find out why they are 18th in League Two.” In his playing days, the 45-year-old featured as an uncompromising centre back for the likes of Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United and Shrewsbury Town, and won the PFA Second Division Player of the Year award in the 2003/04 season as well as three promotions. The Stags new boss will take his first training session tomorrow morning, before meeting the media at a news conference at One Call Stadium at 1pm.
Bristol Rovers confirm Graham Coughlan departure and expect him to be named new Mansfield Town boss today
I’ve always tried to be fair to players and managers and with GC I’ve always supported him even though I liked DC and the football hasn’t been the best despite the good results. I’ve disagreed with some of the posters criticising GC and have always thought we’ve moved on from DC so let’s support GC. But blimey to read that about honesty just about takes the **** out of me, the fans and everyone associated with BRFC. What a hypocrite. I’ve never compared him with DC and today I can see that there is no comparison. The guy has shown he has no class. However we move on and let’s hope we appoint someone who can continue the results but with perhaps some better football. COYB. UTG!

People do strange things under pressure and if, for example, he was being threatened with divorce it might explain his actions, not that I condone them.

Don't understand the point you are trying to make if I am honest. The board are hopeless and need to be gone, but if GC wants to manage a team struggling in the bottom tier, then it shows he wasnt the right person to manage Bristol Rovers, and only got the Job because the board cheaped out replacing Clarke.

We're somewhat in agreement then mate, what I'm saying is that we can criticize both basically.
