As our next two games are Tranmere in the Cup and Alfreton in the league, I'm wondering which of the two games Gasheads would prefer to win. The other one is (hypothetically) lost, so no sneaky replay-and-win cheating.

Don't care about the cup. We will play a cup tie every season.
We have to get back in the league ASAP.

A league win all day long. A win in the FA cup won't get us out of this god-awful league.

It's still true!
You are giving me a hypothetical choice between cup and league. I'll take league every time because progress in the league is what builds success over a longer term. It's a firmer basis for long term stability which is what we need.

Also, IF we are ready to go up this year,.so be it. I'll be happy.
I just don't want it built on sand.
This thread is a simple either/or choice in which reality is suspended, you can't call me out for suspending my reality when answering your question!!

Ooh, we've had a Cup vote! Exciting, isn't it? Haven't done a poll before.

I should have said asap AND when we can be in good enough shape to never come back!

A good performance at Tranmere losing unluckily and three points would be my choice

Actually beating Tranmere - making money and then beaing Alfreton - know I can't vote on that but that's what I want .. Continuity and confidence of a winning side

As much as I dislike Tranny (didn't they reduce prices to a fiver for their fans but force travelling Gas to pay full price the last time we met them?) and as much I would want a big-boys cup run and the financial payoff for the club .... I would sill prefer the 3 league points (not getting those points would mean a lost opportunity to keep up or gain on Barnet).

Win both would obviously be my preference, but seeing that you are forcing the choice, I would have to say 3 points at Alfreton, despite the fact that I'm going to Tranmere, but not Alfreton.
Let's get the flip out of the Conference and back in the league.

How much do we get from progressing through this round? I'm for the 3 points I'm afraid. I love that we always manage to do okay in the FA cup but remember that after this we risk playing a premier league team which will exhaust our players, risk bookings when they ultimately get frustrated and go in hard (like they've grown accustomed to in the conf) and the PL players put it on (again, like they're accustomed to) not to mention injuries. We don't have the luxury of an FA cup run this year. Let's win the trophy once before we go up?

Both!
But in all seriousness a league win, we NEED to get out of this hell-hole as soon as possible!

Not an easy question. On the one hand I would love us to beat Tranmere it would be a satisfying win and a big boost and we would have the chance of getting a big team in the next round make some money etc. However I could live with losing at Tranmere if it meant getting three vital points.

I don't think this league is too much of a hell hole really.
I'm finding it all rather pleasant.
