Tonnes of praise (rightly so) for JCH and Jaakola 24/7 but Rodman is a bit of an unsung hero for me so thought he deserves a thread of praise.
Tough start to his Gas career and missed a lot of games last season due to (supposed) personal issues but what a great turnaround this year. Consummate professional, converting successfully to a solid wing-back and not to mention his superb match-winning header midweek.
Another great performance today v a strong Peterborough attack. Well done Al, keep it up!

Couldn't agree more.
GC would give him pelters and he would just get on with it.

Agreed.
Interesting too, without wanting to turn this into a DC thread, that a player often lambasted as being "another poor signing" is playing such a key role for us.
In fact, looking at today's starting line up alone, Menayese, Craig, Upson, Sercombe, Rodman and Nichols were all DC signings and all are contributing to what is turning into a very good season. Add to that the retention of Kilgour when some may have released him after the injuries.

Rodman is a good player when fit. Provided --- he's played in the right position and has a clear understanding of his role. Which is happening at present.

Thanks for point this out Neil, I also thought Rodman was absolutely superb today & has been for a while tbh. I cannot wait to see the likes of Little, Hare & Davies trying to break back into this team.

Another quality performance from him today. At last we are seeing the player we thought we had signed. Whether some like it or not our recently departed manager appears to have instilled that fighting spirit and battle to the end mentality into this squad and Alex is clearly showing that.

Took him a few games to adapt to the wing back roll but he’s certainly getting there. Good player with pace and an eye for goal. When you play 3-5-2 it’s important that the right wing back cuts inside to get himself in a position to score from the left wing backs cross and from the other side - likewise. Rodders gets that.

Isn't it funny how players form changes when they're close to the end if their contract..?

He automatically gets a new contract offer triggered by how many games he plays, would have thought that would have been triggered by now,

Well done Al, keep it up! Good idea for a thread. LBH, we all knew that Rodman was potentially a really good player. His track record is good and he's a very athletic player, and has height that a lot of forwards don't have (which can be utilised, like Ellis was). Really good to see him playing well. As someone else mentioned a lot of DC signings were clearly not bad players, but for various reasons it didn't quite work at times. Sadly there is a lot of black and white thinking on here; JCH = amazing, GC is a genius, Rodman has been poor = DC wasting wages, Nicholls is worst gas player ever seen, Craig is old and slow, etc

He'd be in my starting 11 every time.
