Didn't MS spend years at Plymouth, Yeovil & Swindon before joining us, those three clubs have hardly set the footballing world alight in recent years, in fact they've all gone backwards!! Since Starnes left Plymouth they’ve since been relegated & he also was CEO at Yeovil in their promotion from L1 to the championship. After he left Yeovil they were relegated back to L1 and are now in the conference. But go on, let’s bash Bristol Rovers some more Exactly what I was going to write. We have always decried every board of directors we have ever had for not having an experienced footballing CEO in charge. Well now we have got one who has worked across all divisions bar the premier league, has been part of the boards that have achieved promotion at every club including being part of a team that averaged around 5500 per gate at home into the championship with shrewd financial structure. But why let the facts and truth get in the way of trying to pick yet another fault at the club.

I'm a lot happier with Starnes being on board now Hamer's goneski. Could never understand the need for both of them. If we can get rid of the office in Londinium then that would probably be a step in the right direction too unless there's some remarkable reasoning behind it that we plebs aren't privy to.
Overall am hoping that the Garner era will coincide with some club changes for the better as well.

Changes for the good of the Squad, good possibility. Fingers crossed.

Well, if Ben Garner turns out to be as successful or even better than Coughlin, we can look forward to him being poached by one of the Titans of the game. You know, like Accrington, Fleetwood, that sort of club. I suppose the only good thing is we won't have to listen to heart-rending stories of crying himself to sleep every evening after eating a microwave meal and staring at the four walls of a bleak and lonely flat. Any family Garner has will be down in the London area, and we have a motorway straight there, to say nothing of a 3 per hour train service, courtesy of GWR, a selection of which are non-stop from Parkway and take just over an hour. Compare that to travelling to the wilds of distant Yorkshire, where Sheffield nestles in the Lee of the Peak District and which takes a whole week to reach from Bristol, provided there's no snow. Coughlan is an Arsehole. Happy Christmas. That’s your trouble oldgas, you sit on the fence we never know what you mean!!😉 But understand the feeling behind it. Have a great Christmas and shout us to 3 points on Boxing Day. UTG!

I was just referring to his ability to select good managers at his previous clubs not running the club generally, although TBH I doubt any of us have a clue how involved he was in appointing managers at his previous clubs, or how big a say he had in BG's appointment given that it was a 3 man selection committee. I just hope BG hits the ground running as we have a great chance to win 2 out of 3 of our festive season games and also go undefeated over those 3 games.

You're obviously the unofficial forum Police, a sort of internet Special Constable, wow. Perhaps Santa will bring you a virtual helmet. Just imagine, a helmet in a helmet. The mind boggles. Happy Christmas.

I think it’s fair to say that Ben Garner is extremely adept at sucking up to anyone that might help him climb the greasy pole. A glance at his twitter page is enough to make you want to vomit. Winter has, probably unknowingly, fallen for the bullshit. Ultimately he will be judged on results. My opinion is that his stated game plan is totally unsuited to the players he’s inherited. And that the players will quickly realise that he’s out of his depth. Still, we’ll see.

landrover has crawled out from under it's rock again. Signed up to the forum on Dec 27, 2018 and 13 of it's first 20 odd posts were to criticise Garner. As it said in one of those posts "there seems to be agendas at play here."
