I can remember v Leyton Oreint about 15 plus years ago being locked out the ground. Around 150 fans were held back in car park by Police and was informed they shut the ground due to overcrowding. I am sure it was round 3 or 4 and in the end we all left and went back down glou rd... I can remember that game well , we were stood in the West enclosure & you could see a queues of people opposite trying to get in the east enclosure just before kick off . But at that time there was a little bit more magic about the f a cup before the big clubs started to devalue the competition by fielding weaken sides. I remember that game. I was in the family enclosure and there were loads of people trying to break through the closed gates from the car park into the turnstile area for the Blackthorn. I think it was more like about 18 years ago? Crikey, how time flies!

This must have been the game prior to the 5th round meeting away at Barnsley in 1999? Where we were easily dispatched. I recall beating an Orient side in the previous rounds at The Mem by 2 or 3? This is one for the historians amongst us.

Which means around 1800 which is away terrace plus some of South stand, thus proving that that possible excuse is a misnomer. Don't have a problem with the club doing things like this for very small crowds but 3rd round of FA cup against an historical 'big' team with big support and who are actually our 3rd closest away trip (ok, maybe we aren't quite their 3rd closest away trip, but it is an easy & tempting journey on a sunday with a £10 ticket price). Just not worth messing ST holders around for. It isn't. (BTW - not a ST holder / doesn't effect me so no bias there). Away terrace is 850 and all south stand is 950. 1,800 in total

I also went to the 4 - 1 drubbing at Barnsley what a load of arseholes the police were that day, total bullies and arresting loads of gas fans for being drunk. Totaly out of order, Wankers!

Five days to go until the match and there is nowhere in the ground where you can buy two seated tickets together, yet the South West Stand remains closed. It's like we don't want people's money.

Amazing away support by Coventry sold out nearly 2000 in day 1 of general sale. Will it be all ticket now??

It must be away terrace and all of south stand. Anyway : they been refused any more tickets. Saying they have taken 6000 to away games. www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/bristol-rovers-tickets.111074/

.....and the West Enclosure remains closed...... I kind of understood this in the first 2 rounds but not this. It makes no sense. Ticket prices are much cheaper again so that seems very odd if the closure is due to costs

Maybe this indecision about parts of the ground not be opened is because Starnes is away on holiday, went last week not back until the weekend. Staff at the club not happy, taking a lot of stick from frustrated people. Life of reilly for Starnes, who's in charge there now.

I'm sure before (e.g. Alfreton and D&R games where we kept the away terrace for us) it was circa 1,100.

This is one for the historians amongst us. yes it was. It was the 4th Round in Jan 1999. 3-0. I wrote the following earlier in thread... Yes, I was there as well (or not as the case was!). 1999. Fourth round. I'd dragged a friend over from Birmingham. Parking was hard. We wandered up to the ground (not even via a pub) & absolutely gobsmacked to be told it was full. Zero idea that that might happen. Official att given as 9274. Previous home crowds had been circa 5,500. Even Burnley had only been 7100. The next home game after was 6200. Weird. Just stood there for a while in North East corner where you could see some of the pitch & then later wandered off back to bloody car.

Joke them closing parts of the ground. I usually sit in the south west with my 6 year old but now there isn't 2 seats together for both of us to sit so wont be going as he is to small to stand inbetween people.

I can’t remember what round but they were a division below us. Now an early round FA cup cup game against a division lower than us would struggle to get 5000. The magic of the FA cup is gone sadly.
