Hello all,
Tranmere fan here,
Just thought would say hello and how you fancy your chances for Saturday? We have been poor this season hence our league position but have started to improve and looked much better under Adams and at least can come back in games now and score goals
How is McChrystal doing for you? He was great for us before he got injured and never looked the same player afterwards
Of your former players Gill has been released in the last week - despite being one of our best players and Richards has been told he is "nowhere near getting in the side" by Adams in his last press press conference so his days looked numbered- we are meant to be trying to find him a club on either loan or free transfer.
Think it could be a good game on Saturday, heart says win for us but head says 1-1 draw with a difficult replay for us at yours
Have a good trip for those for make the trip up for the game!

Don't forget to give Steve Yates a good reception. He's a hero up your way isn't he?

Gill was poor for us.
Richards divides opinions. I thought he wasnt that good. Had some talent but not always the application. Other thought he was the Ronaldo of L2....
Ahem...

I would have been confident with your last manager in charge but Micky Adams is a top manager for the lower levels so I'm not too optimistic, we haven't played that great lately either. I think it'll be a close game with you maybe winning by the odd goal. McChrystal was good when he first arrived but I'm not a fan anymore, slow and too many mistakes. Him and Parkes will probably play together Saturday as our best cb Trotman is out injured. They are a liability together. Gill came here with a big reputation but provided little impact and was very disappointing bar his first game for us. Richards shows a lot of promise but very little end product (goals and assists), 'clever' at winning free kicks though as I'm sure you have noticed. Woodards is the best player you have signed out of our old players but is too injury prone. He was a revelation though in his first season with us, if you can keep him fit then he is a very good asset for league 2. I was in Liverpool a few days ago for the first time, what a shithole! Didn't venture near the Tranmere area though.

No worries about Steve Yates getting a good reception, known as Sir Steve Yates here and will get a great reception.
Forgot about Woodards, looked our best player but got injured and unlikely it seems to be fully fit before his short term deal expires in Jan so doubt he will be kept on

I do wonder about your previous manager Edwards. I feared for you when I seen he signed all our rejects because he had worked with them at Exeter. What did you make of him?

We will be adopting the Scouse attitude to big cup matches this season and playing a weakened team on Saturday! We have a big game against Alfeton on Tuesday!!!

Would you have Richards back ? I would -was very sorry to see him sent down to Exeter. Thought he was having easily his best season for us last year -shame most of it was on the right or left wing.

Forgot about Woodards, looked our best player but got injured and unlikely it seems to be fully fit before his short term deal expires in Jan so doubt he will be kept on welcome to the life story of Danny Woodards. nice guy and genuinely excellent player (and versatile; not a bad centre back or midfielder), but awful injuryprobelms. was our player of the season once I think, but missed a lot of games the following season. accidentally helped contribute to our relegation as by the crucial last game of the season we had ZERO fit full backs at the club. BTW - Not aimed at you personally, but your club went massively down in my estimation in 2009 when you did cut price tkts for home fans but not for away fans. Cheap shot. Got you were you are today maybe?

When he was fit and playing he was usually our man of the match.

I think most of us feel that we have a fighting chance of winning the tie whether on Saturday or after a replay, but we realise that we are the underdogs on this occasion. As you say, if the tie was 3 weeks ago, I think we would have been more confident, but Adams has a lot of respect as a manager and may be the man to turn your fortunes around. McChrystal was a solid performer in a poor side for us last season. Even though he is now our team captain, his opportunities have been limited as we have generally preferred Trotman and Parkes as our central defensive pairing. However, Trotman was injured last Saturday, so I expect Parkes and McCrystal to start for us on Sat. Gill was never really a favorite for many down here and Richards was also like Marmite. There is no doubt that he has ability and my own view was that he was harshly traded out of Rovers, ignoring the fact that he had started to roll his sleeves up and perform. I'm sorry for the kid that he seems to be getting frozen out up there as well. Should be a good atmosphere on Saturday as we are likely to bring quite a few - I'm looking forward to it and still want revenge for Wembley 1990!
