Just listened to his interview, talked very sensibly, we must give him plenty of time he knows exactly what he needs to do to get this team playing attractive football, so refreshing to hear a professional interview instead of useless statements and dribble.

Quite the contrast to the previous manager, interviews were a big weakness of his I thought.
Gives me confidence BG will be able to identify problems and put forward some ideas to correct them.

Admittedly we were poor today but I hope the small group of brain dead idiots that were abusing him after the game have listened to that interview. Thought he came across very well and seems to me to have a very clear idea of how he wants to go forward. Hopefully he'll be given time to do just that and the minority that are already on his back cut him some slack.

The man knows what’s needed.
Stay patient and he’ll get it right.

BG has came in and started exactly how every single Gashead would have wanted. Same team, same pool of players, same set up. It’s the XI out on the park that need to take a look at themselves after today’s woeful showing.

This guy needs to be backed by the owners so he can implement his ideas. I genuinely think BG is the one to take us forward , we must give him time. In BG I trust , UTG !!!!!

Really put across well how he has had zero time on the training ground so far.Not a great time to take over with the hectic number of games at this time of the year.Patience is the name of the game and we must show it,as fans and back him.

Not really sure why we need to change the dynamic of a team that was practically second in the league.

Not going to win a popularity contest here, but then again no change there I guess.
I really couldn't care for how a manager talks. Why does it really matter? It's all about results for me. People saying GC didn't talk well but so what, if we're getting results?
The interview concerned me, as BG refers to the players MK Dons could bring off the bench as an example of how we need to stregthen the squad. I just hope he hasn't set his expectations too high on the allowed budget.
I also don't think we have the budget to be successful playing attractive football. Hence why playing a more direct, combatitive style has been a success for us.

Not knocking you or BG, but what logic is that based on so far other than just hoping for the best and having your glass half full?

GC also wanted to sign creative players to alter the style of play but they cost money. GC made the best of what players he had and took them as far as he could under the circumstances. It will be interesting as to whether BG will get the resources that GC had wanted.

Not being negative, but what he says doesn't mean a great deal it's only results that count. Its goals that win football matches not hope.

Don't care how good Garner sounds. I want results.
Honestly, GC won us games and got and still does get abuse on here for interviewing crap and having crap football when we were 2nd in the league.

Not being negative, but what he says doesn't mean a great deal it's only results that count. Its goals that win football matches not hope. Quite right . Or possession. Good managers get their players to believe that they’re better than they are and therefore get them to perform above expectations and they do that with good man management skills and by giving them tactical instructions that suit the kind of players they are. Gerry Francis was the master of that with us in the late 80s early 90s , Brian Clough did it with Nottingham Forest , Raneiri did it with Leicester when they won the Premier league against all odds. I’m sure our new manager knows all that but I think he needs more money , an overhaul of probably half of our squad and loads of time to achieve a tidy footballing Rovers side that can pick up a points to games ratio the way Coughlan did and push for top 6.

That old we don’t want to get promoted because we can’t afford it conspiracy theory again. I hate it but have wondered at times over the years whether there’s some truth in it.

GC played mainly strong players except those he was stuck with. Real footballers cost real money so I would be surprised if we could go down that road. With GC we looked like the Twerton team, massive effort, team work and resilience. I thought two out of the three games we needed more urgency and we needed to step up a couple of gears and stay there. Whatever players you have if they're not in top gear I can't see it working.
